Went out for lunch with my grandmother and niece, no one was there eating besides us.
WE ALL HAD BLONDE HAIR at the time.
I ordered orange chicken and fried rice I order my niece chicken fingers and fries.
My second bite into the orange chicken, i found a long black hair while i was going for another bite.
I call a waitress over, to show her the hair she is a older lady maybe 50s with short black hair. At this point i gave her the hair and asked for a refund since i was discussed. She claimed it came from us, i laughed and said we all have bleach blonde hair at this table how is that possible. She said no one in the kitchen has long black hair. Shes holding the hair at this point
Drops it on the colorful dark carpet in there and gets on her hands and knees and looks for the hair. Again, im laughing and tell her to get up you just held the hair and the carpet is dark you won't find it. My grandma insisted she pays ( no conflict person) and out of those kitchen doors walks a younger lady with long black hair pined up with a hair net over her hair..

If you want new and shiny, it’s going to let you down. However, not appreciating the cafe as a diamond in the rough will be your loss. The food is fresh, traditional and delish at a ridiculously good price. We drive from Dubuque without hesitation. As for the “old lady” that works there...she’s a hardcore matriarch that maintains cultural standards quite nicely. I like it, it reminds me of shops in large metro areas. Technically, I’d give it a 4.5 ⭐️ just to keep them...
Read moreThese local owners are superb and the food is always amazing. My personal favorite are the best Mai fun and the shrimp egg foo young. We are frequent visitors and the staff have our drinks memorized. They have a mix of true Asian cuisine and some Americanized options for your less adventurous friends. By far, the crown achievement is the buffet they have every Friday and, when the students are in town, they do Saturdays as well. Honestly, true Chinese cuisine is hard to find, but it has found it's quirky home in...
