New York Pizza & Pasta — Restaurant in Pleasant Hill

Hands down awesome NY style thin crust pizza. Sells by the slice.... and by slice they mean giant slice so big they have to cut it in half because you couldn't lift and eat it if it was all one piece. Not expensive either. Have lunch deals and combo with drinks salads etc. I have always stopped in for a slice or 2 (eat one there and take the second one for later or dinner) I have never ordered an entire pizza to be fair, but the giant slices are bigger than any personal pizza and a good chunk of smalls. I cannot stress how good the pizza is. I work in Concord and would regularly drive all the way there and back to work during my entire lunch and have to eat it at my desk when I got back and had to go back to work. Worth it every time. Tons of topping choices and other items besides pizza on the menu as well, but I haven't tried them so can not comment. If you like New York style with no fuss and just a simple to-go New York style take out slice spot.... then stop in when you are around the area for lunch. I was driving down the street on my way home and was looking for something to eat. I've seen this New York Pizza spot before but had never eaten there. What attracted me to this place was the "Pizza by the slice" sign because I didn't want to get a whole pizza and I thought it was nice that they had the slice option. This looks like a small family owned spot, very cozy with a TV. There were a few kids sitting outside eating pizza, so it enticed me even more. The slices were about $3.50 each which I thought was kind of pricey, but they gave it to me in a big box and I opened it and was really surprised.

The pieces are HUGE! It was like I really got 4 pieces instead of 2. The girl at the counter was really sweet, and I saw a gentleman who looked like the owner talking to what seemed like a few regulars there. I ordered 2 cheese slices and they were really good. I especially loved their pizza sauce! It has a nice kick of garlic which tasted delicious and they used just the right amount. When I checked in with my Yelp app, they gave me a 5% off coupon for next time which was a nice added touch. Can't wait to go...

I’ve been coming to New York Pizza & Pasta for years, and it’s always a solid choice for traditional, greasy New York-style pizza. It’s nothing fancy—in the best way possible. I always get the pepperoni pizza, cooked extra crispy for that perfect crunch.

They have great happy hour deals on DoorDash, and my orders always arrive hot and fresh. The cheese and crust are consistently good, and it seems like they use quality ingredients. There’s also a small dine-in area if you want to grab a quick slice.

The owner is a really cool and friendly guy, which adds to the welcoming vibe of the place. I haven’t tried the pasta yet, but I’ve heard good things—maybe next time!
