Amogham is a relatively new Indian restaurant in Pleasanton, and it has become our standout choice. I had stopped dining at Indian buffet restaurants because I was often disappointed with the food quality and service. However, when my family and I visited Pleasanton last August for lunch at a nearby vegan restaurant, we noticed Amogham's sign and decided to try it. Though my wife and I initially hesitated to enter, we were quickly won over by a warm welcome as soon as we stepped in. This gesture, the excellent food, and the outstanding customer service set a positive tone for our experience.
One aspect I particularly appreciate is Amogham's attention to dining essentials. They provide quality napkins and a full set of reusable silverware, including forks, knives, and spoons. It may seem minor, but for me, it enhances the dining experience significantly—especially since some other restaurants often omit knives, making it challenging to enjoy certain dishes like chicken or traditional items like vada and idly. Amogham's attention to these details contributed to a highly satisfying experience.
After that initial visit, I considered Amogham for a large family event at home. The staff provided a reasonable pricing structure for bulk orders, so before committing, my wife and I dined there several times to ensure consistency. Each time, the food quality and customer service were reliably high, which gave us the confidence to place our event order. The food delivered for our event was exceptional, much to the delight of our guests, who all asked about the restaurant. I was also impressed by their use of insulated food pan carriers, a level of care I've rarely seen in Indian restaurant catering. The staff who assisted with setup and serving were attentive and enthusiastic, contributing significantly to the event's success.
Based on our consistently positive experiences, I highly recommend Amogham for dining-in and catering needs. I hope Amogham continues to uphold this food quality and customer service level. Just so you know, this review is based on my experience, and I didn't receive any compensation or incentives...

I usually don't write reviews, but this experience compelled me to share so others can avoid making the same mistake. Today, I ordered a family pack of "Gongura Chicken Biryani" at around 11:30 AM and was told it would be ready for pickup in 45 minutes. I arrived for pickup after 40 minutes, only to be told I needed to wait another 20 minutes because "it usually takes 50 minutes." Annoyed but patient, I waited. After 20 minutes, I asked again, and they said to wait another 10 minutes. This pattern continued with "5 more minutes" until they finally handed me the food--nearly an hour later than promised. However, what I received wasn't what I ordered. They gave me a pulav instead of Gongura Chicken Biryani. When I pointed this out, they casually explained that they had run out of rice and gave me "what was available." I was shocked. How could they not inform me earlier or even ask if I was okay with a substitution? It felt like they were trying to cheat me by passing off the wrong dish without explanation. When I insisted on getting what I ordered, they said it would take another 10-15 minutes because they had to cook the rice. To make matters worse, the person said my order might get delayed further if they received other priority orders. This response was infuriating, as my order was already delayed and mishandled! After showing my frustration, they reluctantly started working on my order. Finally, after nearly 2 hours, I received my food. But the ordeal didn't end there. The so-called "Gongura Chicken Biryani" was nothing more than plain white rice with chicken curry. There was no Gongura flavor, no spices, and no resemblance to biryani whatsoever. It was bland, flavorless, and utterly disappointing. This experience was a nightmare. I am baffled that this restaurant has a 4+ rating--it deserves a negative score for the sheer lack of professionalism, quality, and customer service. Avoid this place...
Read moreFirst, this is an authentic review, my name is Sivaji and I am local to Dublin/Pleasanton area. Let me start by telling you what it prompted me to take my time to come online and give a review.
First, today November 22nd is the first time I visited this restaurant and I saw the board Grand opening. I got excited to see a new restaurant in the area. What followed next is full disappointment.
Food : Ordered boneless chicken biryani. Guess what, in the restaurant sitting and waiting, food came, and only to find that they served Chicken Biryani without chicken pieces. Oh my god, what just went thru my mind is what if i had ordered this biryani in door dash and food comes after an hour only to relaize they give you a biryani thats not what you ordered.
2nd Item: Ordered Goat ghee roast biryani. Gosh, trust me I am a Hyderabadi and I eat biryani's around surrounding local restaurants Palnadu Ruchulu, Biryani Junction, Biryaniz, Paradise Biryani Point and trust me all these other places serve better Ghee roast birani, thank god at least they put mutton pieces in thsi briyani but still its not what the menu says what it it.
Overall I give this restaurant 1.36 stars because they are serving beer Haywards 5000 which is my favorite.
I would strongly discourage all of you to go this restaurant or Doordash from this place.
@restaurant owners: Sorry for publicly saying out the review , hopefully your whole team will do a better job at priovidng better food.
By the way, I did not write this review with any frustration or had any fight with the staff , none like that. I am writing here so people do not fall for cheap tricks like this restaurant is offering Buy one biryani and get One biryani free.
