Quite honestly the food is pretty good and it's not too expensive for what it is.
But we had some issues with our service. Our waiter, Kyle, seemed pretentious and must have been working too many tables because we didn't see him very often.
I had cork bits in my Merlot, and it took about 15 minutes to get another glass because he was nowhere to be found.
When I showed him, great! No problem! New glass arrived.. but then later when we wanted some ketchup.. same deal.. waiter was nowhere to be found.
I was paying attention now to his movements.. and I noticed that he tucked a menu in his pants (basically touching his underwear and sticking up his back) gross! I’m guessing that’s not his first time with that healthcode violation.
I was able to move passed these issues until the bill came and I found out they charge a fee to split the salad.. but the thing is.. nobody ever asked the server to do that!! When we were ordering I asked my wife.. did you still want to share that wedge salad? I think random fees are the worst! Predatory.. it was a small charge but honesty and integrity aren't measured in quantity.
This level of service is pretty inexcusable being that they are across the street from Tri-Valley Bistro, Sabio & Haps.. why would I ever go there and subject myself to bad service?
Decent food though.. my 20oz New York Strip steak was thick.. and the mushroom & onions on top were garlicky & a little salty.. which I LOVED.. the steak itself was ordered medium rare.. but came out just medium.. still tasty enough.. not ruined.. and while the topping was salty the meat was not over salted & paired well with the Merlot..
kind of a shame about the service, since I liked the food.. but I'm the type that never forgets...
Read moreTerrible service. Terrible service turns good food into terrible food. There are too many excellent restaurants in the Bay Area to tolerate horrible service. I arrived shortly before 9 pm. The restaurant was winding down. I ordered lobster linguini. Twenty minutes later a blond woman with a smug, insufferable smirk brought me the wrong meal. The waiter who took my original order stopped by, apologized, and said my meal would arrive shortly. After 40 minutes, at 9:40 pm, with only two tables still occupied, I went to the back entrance area where the waiters congregate to ask what happened to my order. They were checking Instagram, texting, or whatever else they were doing INSTEAD of ordering my food, or checking on me at my table. No one checked on me for 40 minutes after I put in my order. This is service?? My food came around 9:46 pm, brought to the table by the blond woman who still had a smirk on her face. Why is she in customer service with such disdain for people? The food was not satisfying after this experience and given how quickly it was cooked. I asked for the check and was presented with a bill for $46.31, no discount for terrible service and keeping me waiting even though the restaurant was ALMOST EMPTY! I drove 30 minutes to this restaurant. I will never do it again. Ali needs to better train his staff on customer service, and there was not even the excuse that they were busy and overwhelmed. My order was the last order to be filled, and they couldn't even get that right, and no one checked on me to see how I was doing. Finally, that woman was rude and smug, with a derisive smirk, even when she pretended to be sorry she brought the meal 45 minutes late. Adequate food, horrible service,...
Read moreThe food was great, hot and tasty but I’m going rate this place 2⭐️ for three reasons. 1: bad quality service from the Hispanic server and busser. I don’t know their names because they never welcomed or greeted us upon sitting like every well trained customer service person does and expects from a fine dinning restaurant to do so. 2: felt discriminated after Noticing the difference in their treatment towards the table next to us even though it wasn’t busy to justified the bad attitude that they had after I requested water with no ice, a plain grilled lemon for my calamari and to sample two different red wines. “ I know right, why didn’t I just walked out ? ” well, I stayed because of my two hungry girls and I was hoping to end my first time experience at Bici’s right, but nope. 3: I felt rushed to finish and leave. the server never came back and I had to ask for the dessert menu after a different server placed the checkbook on the table leaving me with a bad taste in my mouth after spending $300 on dinner with terrible service. Call me picky or whatever you like but you expect more when you spend this amount at fine dinning...
