Would give them 0 if possible.. Racist experience. two families .4+2 in total. We should have left when they said, we only have 1 high chair in restaurant . Surprising for big place but that's fine.
We arrived at 830 PM on Saturday evening and placed an order for appetizers. He was correcting our American pronunciation to Italian accent for every item in front of us. We ignored/joked as no big deal.. He didn't like us getting 1 soup to try out among us. It is in fixed quantity only. So, not sure why matters Once we got appetizers, wanted to place an order for Pasta first for kids. I think, Host didn't like that.
His exact words :: Is that the only thing you are ordering for everyone? (disappointed face).. Us : No. We might order something later just want to get order done for kids first. Him : I can wait sometime and come back for you to place all order at once. I don't want to be keep coming more often. (We had just got appetizers and mind you none is ordering except us) Us: What? Why? Him: See, you are the only one who is going to place any further order here. Kitchen guy is also sweeping floor and tired. You only have very few minutes . Why are you not ordering, etc etc.
We asked him what did we do wrong for your such behavior. He was like, what did I do? i behave in same manner with everyone. We heard him taking order of another table when we came and he was very polite.
This is just snippet. Restaurant closes at 10 P'M. Host doesn't want to cook food for us at 845 PM while we enter at 830 PM. Pretty weird!!! And, he never told us , we are closing, kitchen blah blah blah..
If you don't want Indians and/or vegetarians in your restaurant, just put a board outside and we won't visit. Shouldn't be insulting someone for visiting a restaurant to eat food..
Whatever food we got was decent but that's beside the point. our last visit...
Read moreMade an advance reservation for Christmas Eve, and reviewed the menu on the restaurant website at that time. When we arrived, the menu was essentially identical....but with prices 20%-30% higher than listed on the website. Nowhere was it stated on the menu or the website that there would be a Christmas Eve surcharge, so to speak. When I asked the manager about the discrepancy, he stated that it was a “special holiday menu”. I asked what was special about the menu, other than the inflated prices....I was told nothing. I certainly felt misled, as I never would have made the reservation knowing about the inflated prices. Now, I don't mind paying a premium price if there is really something “special” about the menu, but that was not the case at all. It became more disappointing when the food arrived. The entrees were extremely small portions and of mediocre quality. In addition, our table was near the door, which for some reason was propped open on a cold night. My wife never took off her coat because it was so chilly. We couldn't wait to leave. Terrible experience on Christmas Eve, I felt misled and ripped...
Read moreThis has been one of my favorite restaurants to go to in downtown Pleasanton, so it hurts my heart to give it such a critical review. The owner and the servers are sweet and give wonderful service, but the price that they now ask for their food is insane! We went to celebrate my sister's birthday and I was astonished to see they ask $25 for their pasta and $50 for a tiny sea bass. On top of that, they charged $9 for side soup and $12 for side salad that should be included in with the already expensive meal. We were not told this would be extra when we ordered. Then on top of that they add 20% gratuity if you are with a party larger than 5. As if they aren't already making enough money on their overpriced food! But where it went wrong was they charged the gratuity including the wine we had. The wine should not be included in the amount you tip on. Especially if it's already an expensive bottle. What used to be a cute place, now has turned into a high class expense my family and I no longer can enjoy for a cute event such...
