The sales associate that helped us was wonderful in nearly every way. He was so knowledgeable, and was able to answer every question I had intelligently & informatively. (That is saying a lot as I am a nurse and always ask several difficult questions that often stump people.)He was so patient and took his time to really listen and find the right shoes for both my boyfriends & my needs. He also took the time to explain how and why certain shoes would be best for us. It took both of us trying on several different shoes for us to find the right fit but he never rushed us or made us feel like we were taking too long. Friendly, super knowledgeable/helpful and all around great customer service. You can tell he’s been doing this job for a good amount of time so I was happy we got such an experienced sales person. His name is Jahadi from the Pleasanton store & he deserves recognition from management. I will be referring other friends & family to the store after my two great experiences with him! This is also to say the fleet feet model of foot & gait analysis is unmatched by any other shoe store. It’s so helpful & scientific to be fit in proper shoes this way. Also, because I’ve been here twice before I have data tracking how my feet have changed over the years. This is especially helpful after I had an injury & also because I work on my feet all day. I found out I’ve been wearing shoes that are a size too small now because my feet have changed. I also have data on how my arch’s have changed. As a shoe shopper, I’m no picnic. I’m flat-footed. I also have a disability and the meds I’ve taken to manage this have caused me to develop issues with my heart and lungs. On top of that, I’ve developed kidney issues over the years. This review isn’t about my health woes, obviously, but to point out that all these concerns have led to constant foot, ankle, and leg swelling, and just swelling overall (if you knew me personally, you’d see that I look “puffy” right now). That’s why I’m hard to shop for, shoe-wise.

Which leads me to my review. My feet have been in pain for weeks now, making it hard to continue walking. The swelling I mentioned earlier had gotten much worse, so much so that the running shoes I’d been wearing (a half size larger than most of my shoes) were feeling downright tight, and I wondered if my feet had grown at this ripe old age of 40-something. Not wanting to give up my only means of exercise during the pandemic, I decided to book an appointment at Fleet Feet in Pleasanton. And friends, lemme tell you: this was a very good idea. As another reviewer mentioned, they do wipe everything down and give you their undivided attention. I believe my sales associate’s name was Nicole, and she was awesome. After offering a fresh pair of socks, scanning my feet, and observing my gait, she came out with 3 solid shoe recommendations and inserts to try on. Yes, I did purchase a new pair, and I’ve been wearing them in and out of the house (and I don’t wear shoes in the house, it’s just that my feet have needed a lot more support lately). I can't say enough good things about my experience at Fleet Feet! As an avid runner training for my first marathon, I knew I needed to invest in a good pair of running shoes. The staff at Fleet Feet went above and beyond to help me find the perfect pair.

The store has an amazing selection of top running shoe brands like Brooks, Saucony, Asics, and more. I told the employee what kind of running I do, any injuries, my gait, and he proceeded to bring out multiple options for me to try on. I tested each pair by walking and jogging across the store. They even have a treadmill so you can get a feel for how the shoes perform at different speeds.

After narrowing it down to two pairs, the employee used the store's 3D foot scanner to analyze my feet and determine my exact sizing and fit needs. Thanks to the data from the scan, he helped me choose the optimal shoe for my foot type. I walked out feeling extremely confident in my purchase knowing the shoes were customized to my feet.

The staff's passion and knowledge for running is unmatched. They take the time to listen to your needs and make thoughtful recommendations, rather than just pushing the trendiest shoes. I appreciated the thorough gait analysis and professional advice on things like socks, shoe care, and accessories to prevent injury.

I can't thank Fleet Feet enough for their top-notch customer service and dedication to getting me in the perfect pair of running shoes. I would highly recommend them to any fellow runner or athletic shoe shopper. Their expertise and attention to detail is incredible. Five stars for sure!
