[2023 may] Still one of my top favorite dim sum restaurants! Siu mai is still delicious even though today it was already in the steamer in a while due to the lunch+memorial weekend rush. Everything came out piping hot. Their menu is not super extensive and I like that they stick to what they can do well and maintain high quality. I normally don't care for chicken feet because of the salty sauce and they offer a herb soup option which is delicious! We also got the beef chow fun and although it is greasy (as traditional style is), the flavor is great with the right combination of ingredients (yellow chive, bean sprouts, and beef). The beef doesn't taste like its been overly processed and seasoned very well. I would appreciate a little less oil but this is a hard dish to make healthy. The steamed "fun guo" is too meaty for our preference because we like all the non meat ingredients in it. There was a short wait at 1pm on Saturday but you can grab a menu and start selecting your food while you wait in line. Parking is tough even with a dedicated lot so make sure to carpool and reserve some time to find parking.
[2020 Aug] Great siu mai. Everything we got was tasty. I'm from Hong Kong and Ive craving for good Siu Mai during SIP and came all the way from South bay to get some. They have tables outside if you want to...
Read moreKing Wah is one of my go-to dim sum restaurants in the east bay as they have some really good items like:
101 King Wah Shrimp Dumpling (L) 109 Egg Custard Bun (M) 208 Deep Fried Dough Rice Noodle Roll (L) 301 Deep Fried Shrimp Balls (L) 312 Pan Fried Chives Dumpling (L)
I'd say that these particular items are my go-to orders and they're pretty standard meaning that you can find these items elsewhere too. One thing I appreciate a lot about this spot beside the good services is that the food items are really packed with rich flavors.
During the lunar new year, my parents and I decided to order 盤菜 from them and I'd say the sauce and what's inside was really delicious and had a lot of items we enjoyed eating. One thing to note is that it comes in the pot (which I've included a picture of) and they had charged me a small deposit for the pot. When I returned the pot then they returned my deposit!
If you're looking for a spot to eat with your family or friends then I'd recommend checking them out.
Tip:
the pricing that they place on dim sum i'd say is pretty fair game and not super charged.
plenty of parking spaces is available in the shared parking lot and there are also a lot of amazing boba/dessert spots within the plaza and the outlet is just...
Read moreWe've seen this place a few times and wanted to have some Chinese food, so in we went. The staff all speak very limited English but are super friendly and prompt with everything. Don't go there and expect small chit chat with anyone, just getting down to business and eating. The place was clean. The service was quick. The food was good. The Mongolian beef was really good and flavorful. The lemon chicken has a great taste but I don't think there was any chicken in it. It tasted like all breading which wasn't crispy at all. Think funnel cake texture. It wasn't good and we wouldnt get that again. The chow mein said combo which we assumed was beef, shrimp and chicken. Turns out it was seafood combo with chicken. It wasn't bad, just surprised. The only thing that brings this review down is the fact that they put an 18% service charge automatically on every check and don't tell you. Which is a little disturbing and feels deceiving. If you're going to charge me for a tip, don't expect me to tip you again. Put up signs that say 18% automatic charge or have it...
