Noland's Cake Shop — Restaurant in Pleasanton

I contacted the bakery for a pricing on a custom cakes/cupcakes. I was told a custom cupcake would be $8. Ok, great let’s order one! Then I’m told I have to order a minimum of 6 for $48. Ok, I guess let’s order 6 but I’d like them to be different colors. Well we can do 3 one color and 3 another. No, I don’t like that- how much more to make them all different colors. $10 each to get them done, so $60 total. Ok, great so I emailed details of what I wanted and they emailed back confirming it’s ok to do. When I get to the shop, I’m told it’s a minimum of $75 not $60 like I was told. Umm, no that’s not ok. And then I notice they didn’t make them to my order specifications. Im told they can’t fix them because the bakers are gone and I can pick up tomorrow. That doesn’t work for me because they’re for a birthday that’s TODAY. Ok so can I just take the ones I ordered and only pay $40. No no no no you already got a discount, I’m charging you $60 when it’s suppose to be $75. That’s not my fault and it’s not what I was quoted. The woman blatantly admitted she quoted me incorrectly because she was new. She reluctantly gave me a $5 discount. I’m so upset/disappointed that I had to pay so much for an incorrect order and not have the proper birthday gift.

All in all, very poor service. I would not recommend coming here.

Update- we tried the cupcakes and they tasted horrible! $2 box of Betty Crocker would have been...

My sister recommended I check this place out for my Wedding & I'm SO glad I did! The flavor variety immediately caught my attention, inspiring me to book a tasting appointment. Donna was a very easy-going lady to work with, and she was very swift to respond to all calls & emails. Then, Tasting Day arrived. All pre-selected cakes were uniquely delicious, so of course, my Family, Fiancé & I spent over an hour deliberating amongst ourselves for a winner. 😣😅 Sensing our bubbling frustration, the Sit-In Assistant snuck out of the Tasting Room, grabbed a cupcake from the front display counter, and offered it to us to try…. And that ultra moist, pink champagne-flavored cupcake (topped with an ethereal mountain of raspberry buttercream) ended up being the unanimous crowd-pleaser! 🥰 For the design, I offered them a few Pinterest pictures, and they absolutely nailed it. 🎉 At the Reception, guests admired the cake’s beauty until we cut it…😜 I'm looking forward to our 1st Anniversary, when we can go into this magical place once again for our free, mini-version of this masterpiece…

I looked up a few places that had good ratings, called them all up and provided a pic of what I was looking for. The cake was for my daughters babyshower. All the places said they could do it but based off the pictures I saw from their previous work, I decided to go with them. I was very impressed. I got a 3 layer cake, Red Velvet. Their customer service was great from the begining to the time I picked up the cake. They were busy when I walked in and I still didn't have to wait. They had someone helping me right away. They brought the cake to my car, put it in, placed it on these non-slips so the cake wouldn't budge bit. They told me, don't worry, it won't move and they were right. It was still one of the most stressful drives I ever had driving it to the destination.

When they brought the cake out, everyone in the place was in awe. When I brought the cake to the resturant, everyone in the place was in awe.

Everyone loved the flavor, people said it was one of the best they ever had.

Would definitely go back...
