UMe Tea Express — Restaurant in Pleasanton

There are so many bubble tea shops around this area, and even one on the other side of this shopping plaza. Bc of the location, there's competition to be had. Having said that, I'm happy to have this drive thru window place. There are a lot of selections to choose from that it gets overwhelming for someone who doesn't drink boba/ tea very often. However, the one or two staff inside those tiny walls are helpful. You can drive up and place your order (which is what we did) or you can order online. I feel the wait is a tad longer than other boba shops, but it is a drive thru with limited staff, so it's understandable. The drinks are good.

Maybe it's the company's business model, not unique to this location, but I like how this place has special promotions with fun toys included.

The boba itself is good but this location was a hot mess. I was in the drive through line for probably 25 minutes and there were only 3 cars in front of me. There was only one employee taking an order than making and serving those drinks before taking the next order. He also seemed new because he didn’t know how to apply promo codes.

The parking lot/drive through setup was also a mess. A car backed into me while I was in the drive through line and they were leaving the parking lot. You have to make a 3 point turn to get around the building from the order line to the pickup line, and the median on the exit side is hard to see from your car/not marked with a post so it’s easy to hit on the way out. Ordered online 10mins before arrival and by the time we get here all the windows were shut with posters taped on them like the store is permanently closed. No customer in front of us but still waited for 30 mins until someone from the inside finally noticed there were customers outside waiting to pickup an online order. I don’t know what the employee was doing. Order 2 drinks with 30% sugar and still sweet af.
