Stopped in for a cup of coffee after hitting the museum next door. The service was pretty substandard and the employees contradicted each other with every question we asked. Asked before ordering if they had non-dairy options, one older woman said no and just looked at me like I was an idiot for asking, but the other younger (and much friendlier) one said they did and showed me a carton of soymilk. To this, the older woman just shrugged. My sister ordered a caramel latte, older woman said they didn’t have any and gave us another bored and blank stare. No helpful suggestions or anything, it was like we were putting her out by simply being in there. My sister asked what they did have and the older lady said “its on the sign” ... yeah, well so was caramel. The helpful younger girl who offered that they did have a non-dairy milk suggested a way to make caramel with some caramel syrup and another flavor. Again, the older lady seemed put out and kind of huffed over to put this “extra” work into the drink. The coffee was so watered down it was barely brown, and tasted like it was made off grounds that had already been brewed for a different purpose. Total waste of money- the drinks went right into the trash as soon as we walked out...
Read moreI am so happy we stopped here during Mothman Festival, even though the line was out the door. Definitely worth it! I love the atmosphere inside the Cafe and all the decorations. The whole staff was so nice and had smiles on the whole time. The Mothman mural that you stick your face into was honestly awesome.
Because we came during the festival, there was of course a wait. Everyone wanted Mothman shaped cookies or decorated cupcakes. We even grabbed a pack of "Mothman Droppings" (chocolate covered espresso beans).
As a special during the festival, they were offering a $8.99 "Bucket Lunch". It was a large plastic Halloween pail, with your choice of full sandwich or half a wrap, type of cookie (peanut butter, snickerdoodle, or chocolate chip), a bag of plain chips, and a drink (water, small coffee, or iced tea). This is an absolute steal for $9! You can tell it's all being made fresh too.
Definitely check this place out when you're in town, even if...
Read moreA friend and I ordered an ice and hot coffee after coming from the mothman museum. We thought it was weird there was no prices on the menu. We sat down and waited and watched other people be served, after 20 minutes they started shutting things down and I asked for creamer for when I get my coffee and they handed me a carton that was Walmart brand. They turned the lights off and the staff didn't acknowledge us as they began to close up, we mentioned we hadn't gotten our coffee and they gave a quick sorry and asked what we ordered then said they couldn't make the hot coffee since they shut the machines off already. Did not do anything to make up for the long wait poor service or not making the original order. On top of that the iced coffee that we waited so long for was pulled out of the fridge premade with Walmart creamer, not worth the Starbucks prices. Don't know what I was expecting from a place that spelt Colombian coffee...
