Ali baba Catering — Restaurant in Pomona

My family and I drove to Pomona from Anaheim yesterday to try this place out since we were looking for a good restautant and saw that it had great reviews. I can say we were totally not disappointed! The food was absolutely delicious! It was fresh and made from scratch, and tasted very authentic! I especially recommend the kibbeh and half chicken plate. The beef and lamb shawerma were amazing too, yum! Even the salad and rice were fantastic, and they give you some bread and garlic dipping sauce with your meal which I found myself getting addicted to just by itself!

The restaurant is doing dine in now, but we sat in the patio outside and took our dog, which is a total plus that the outdoor seating is dog friendly! I always get so excited when I can take my dog anywhere, especially restaurants since thats more restricted.

We also got a chance to meet the owner who turned out to be one incredible individual. If you go there and have a chance to chat with him a moment you'll find his story to be very inspiring. The way he opened the restaurant, the amount of dedication he puts into it...its not often we think about what these small business owners go through...the blood, sweat, and tears that they shed to keep their places alive...but when you hear stories like his you realize how important it is to support these small businesses, especially now when things are rough, and even moreso when they offer quality food, good portion sizes, and friendly service.

I encourage everyone to try this place out for themselves, you won't be disappointed. Even the prices are pretty good given Mediterranean food (especialy GREAT Mediterranean food) is not typically...

So I’ve only tried Mediterranean food once before and I liked it, it was years ago Then me and my cousin were looking for food! We looked on google maps and this was close to us and we decided to try it, BEST decision we ever made! The food was so delicious!! I’m Hispanic and to me those were flavors I have never tasted! My cousin thought the same! And he’s almost a good expert haha The food was so good that we decided to get a 3rd plate and me and my cousin shared it and every plate we got was amazing!!

Then we wanted refills but instead we got a mango smoothie and omg let me tell you that was the best mango smoothie I’ve ever had in my life!! We took a sip and boom an explosion of flavor and I looked up at my cousin to see if he felt the same and he was already looking at me to see my reaction! It was so dang good that I forgot to take a picture! Overall great food! But Service can be better but I completely understand, he gets busy and it’s hard for the owner to attend, but the food makes up for...

My first time here, I was served two menus, the listed price in each one was relatively different, but Ahmad asked to ignore the prices, and charged us three dollars extra per order, when the food arrived it seemed a bit cold, the bread was old and wasn’t warmed up, he never came around not even once to check on us to see how we were doing, at the time of check out, I looked for him, we thought he was busy in the kitchen cooking, it turned out he was texting on his phone the whole time, anyway I paid him whatever additional charges he asked for, I happily paid, thanked him left him 3$ tip, and left The place was quite a disappointment, knowing he was the owner and yet he didn’t seem to care About his...
