El Buen Gusto — Restaurant in Pomona

These are my favorite pupusas by far My rating is for pupusas only I have not tried anything else on the menu. I’ve been coming here for the last 10 years since I moved to Ontario. It’s not a quick drive either for me but I’ll drive the 20 min to get here just because they are so delicious. I have seen reviews of the long hold wait and yes it’s true. I myself have experienced that one time I called over 40x and got the busy dial tone. I gave up. They only have one phone line and they are always buys from what I’ve seen when I’ve dined in and picked up in the past. The price is affordable, honestly I don’t know how people complain about how expensive the pupusas are!! It’s ridiculous how people will complain that they are not $1 or $2. Making pupusas is hard work just like any other Hispanic dish. People want to downgrade and are unwilling to give prestige to our foods. FYI I’m not salvi but come one people stop being so cheap! Not good. The only reason why I went here, its because there is a buen gusto in silver lake border line glenldale that's awesome. First of all, their prices on the menu don't match what they charge you. Desayuno com chorizo $12, when I paid, it was $13.50 plus tax 14.88. I asked the guy if I could have the eggs sunnyside up and chorizo separate. He said the chorizo and eggs are ready mixed. It took about 15 minutes to get my food, I go to my car to eat there was no fork. So I went home to eat. The egg and chorizo had a faul smell, I was not able to eat it. I have been looking for a el Salvadorian restaurant all over the places for many years. This place is absolutely a hidden gem here at pomona. I called in didn't know if I could order in english so that you know lots of these authentic restaurants here takes orders only in spanish. I am so very surprised that the owner speaks fluent english. He took my order over the phone but asking for a 15 minutes wait time. I have been looking for a pupusa place for so long so I ask if he can make it faster. The owner politely explained to me how their pupusas are made fresh so the wait time is necessary.
