Love this place, never had a problem until last night. I was getting my ID checked so that I could buy drinks. The guy said it was a fake ID and took it away, I tried showing him my D.O.B. on different documents, he kept saying it was fake. We tried telling security (p.s. Security was so sweet, they all deserve raises) they tried to get my ID back from the bartender, they were unable to. We had to wait for the cops to show up, missing the concert. While waiting, another guy comes outside, saying that the bartender also took his ID. So he also came to wait with us, the cops finally came and verified that our IDs were real and gave them back to us. And we went back inside, the bartender who took our IDs said he won’t be serving us. So even once the cops verified that our IDs were real, we couldn’t get drinks. Like he couldn’t just apologize and admit he was wrong, it would’ve been fine if he had done that. Anyways, we missed all of Together Pangeas set and couldn’t get drinks after we went through all that. It was all a little sketchy.
Edit: I wanted to add that the Glass House reached out to me, I believe the bar there is not necessarily a part of them. They apologized. I would say- don’t use the bar inside the venue, there’s a bar connected to the glasshouse in a different room, that one is very nice and the bartenders there are...
Read moreNot sure if it was just for the last show I went to (Soul Glo), but the place has gotten incredibly strict. Bouncers inside and out are the worst, just generally insufferable and antagonistic. There's a walkway around the place marked with tape, and if you're even half a step into it you'll get harassed by security (even though said standing area is way too small for the amount of tickets they sell). Dude outside made me go back to my car because I had a vape in my pocket (do they not have a smoking area anymore?).
But not only were they lame to the fans, but to the musicians as well. They gave so much grief to the band about the "rowdy crowd" (people moshing at a hardcore show, imagine that) and shutting the show down "on time" (15 minutes earlier than the sound ordinance), that they just rage quit. The guitarist unplugged his guitar and tossed it into the crowd, and they were gone. Never had a band antagonized by venue staff into stopping their show early, but Glass House managed to be the first.
I loved my first show here with Earl Sweatshirt, but it seems new management has killed the vibe and lost the vision. This is a venue...
