-Response to owner's response: Mark, it doesn't seem like you understand the problem. Your employee that claimed to be the manager (not bar tender) came over over to our group to say that he had personally allowed an illegitimate tournament (Due to the other pool players yelling). We were perfectly fine to wait our turn and that was our intention. I did confront the existing pool players and was rudely denied a chance to wait my turn. They seemed overly intoxicated and were being aggressive. Is this the kind of atmosphere Odonovans is known for? We were not given a chance to wait which is rude & unfair. The people on the table told us they had permission to hog the pool table for the rest of the night because your employee told them it was okay. It's not about strict pool rules; its about the common courtesy of allowing people to claim then next game or to at minimum play winners. A made up tournament with an unspecified team up next is absolutely unaccaptable on any pool table anywhere. As of now you will not be receiving my business in the future. No next time mark. You have failed to consider a more reasonable & fair pool table policy. I therefore do not accept your apology. As for the smelly cup situation, just use fresh towels to dry your cups. thats all. -Review: This is the worst place to play pool in Pomona. Chances are you probably won't because their management allows people to make up "tournaments" for the sake of one small group hogging the pool table. Unplanned, unannounced, & completely out of line with proper pool table etiquette.
-Also their cups smell like mildew.
I regretfully invited my friends out for drinks here. We had a group of 8 & we were excited to buy a night's worth of drinks. Unfortunately that excitement quickly turned to disappointment. I placed my quarter on the table next to the other existing quarter to claim the following game as is the norm with any legitimate business with a pool table. Only the drunk people on the table didn't want to let us play because they were having an exclusive tournament apparently. Fair etiquette does not exist at O'donovans. The manger had said that he had allowed the people on the table to make up this tournament moments before we had arrived because he said "it was a slow night". Well It was a slow night & continued to be a slow night for this business because we decided to leave after this incident. There are several more pleasant & fair places to play pool...

Read moreThe Woman and I love Irish pubs. We were coming back from L.A. and were looking for some good place that we didn't have in town. No regular chain places. We saw it on the map and decided to check it out. We had others with us, her son, 21 and his gf, 20 and another friend our age. Wasn't sure how it was going to go, but gave it a shot. Very old district of down town. Restaurant/Pub was below ground level in a very old building (we thought that was cool.) Lots of taps on hand. Plenty of local brews. I had the Brats and Mash, she had the Fish and Chips, gf and son shared Shepherd's Pie, friend had the turkey bacon avocado sammich. Food was ON POINT!!! Fish was perfect. Fries were crispy with something else added to them that made them awesome. Brats and Mash was perfect. Shepherd's Pie was too. Sammich also. Our server was also kicking ass while handling the food for tables as well as tending the bar. We tipped generously as everything was well above expectations. I'd go back for sure. Kinda wish I still lived local to them, as I would frequent this place to even just grab a...
