We were really excited to try this place out. I had heard of it and had seen reviews for a while. Finally decided to try it tonight. We got a table faster than we expected, which was nice. Once the server came out, we ordered something to drink and looked at apps. When she came back, she would look away distracted watching cars driving by or other people talking while we were giving her the app order. Then she’d have us repeat due to not hearing us because she was distracted. About 5 min after she left with the app order, she returned to tell us they were out of clams. That was a bummer, but we get that it happens. So, we got something else. When the wings came out, they honestly weren’t that great. Felt they needed to be cooked more, but the server didn’t come back really so that didn’t happen. Once she came back for the meal order, we had a few more issues. About 10 min after she left with the order, she returned to say they were out of salmon. Okay, that stunk but again it happens. Ordered another item instead and was told they no longer carry the rice side that was on the menu… okay again.. so we got something else. Once the food came out she disappeared mostly for the rest of the meal. I got a burger, which was alright but not very hot and my bf got the lobster ravioli which also wasn’t very hot. We didn’t want to be a pain and weren’t able to ask for anything to be heated up anyways since our server wasn’t around. When she finally returned we asked for the bill and paid. I still left her 20% since I’m a server too.. and I felt bad not doing so. But this was a let down. I understand issues with getting certain products currently for restaurants. I understand being short staffed obviously. But from what I observed, our server wasn’t “weeded” they weren’t that busy. We were a very easy going “not needy” table either. But for the hype and the price we paid, the food and overall experience was sub-par. Maybe it was just...
Read moreWow I’m so glad that Cafe Brie had horrible service and it led to me trying this place instead, I literally drove into the plaza looking for cafe Brie and saw The Foundry’s Brunch sign and was like wow I need to try that place! Then walked into cafe Brie they were totally rude so we walked out and went straight to The Foundry and we’re so happy that we did, they were AMAZING! The service at this restaurant is great and for a Sunday morning/afternoon when restaurants are packed that says a lot! The hostesses were sooo inviting and nice, the waiter who wasn’t the best multi tasker (but knew it and always made up for it) was sooo nice and helpful, even when the food runners would come out if I asked for sauce or anything they would rush it out to me, everyone was great! Service is such a huge deal to me just as important as the food in my opinion. So on to the Menu! I loved the array of food options, the brunch menu had plenty of things to choose from and I will definitely be back to try lots of other things on both the brunch and regular menu! We enjoyed the coffee and donuts the best probably lol! It’s not what it sounds like the coffee was actually crème de pot, I’m not sure if I spelled It correctly but it was like a coffee mousse and it was delish! We also got the chicken and waffles and eggs Benedict with a side of their French toast which was also super yummy and delicious! All in all I have no complaints about this place! It was super cute and close to the beach, what more can you ask for? I can’t...
Read moreService was good, not exceptional but decent, atmosphere, the decor is awesome the place was well lit and all but the tables were a tad sticky but clean, maybe it was the cleaning supplies they use. Since it does have an open area it was a bit humid and hot but it’s south Florida so whatever, it wasn’t bad at all but one of the plates had that kind of dishwasher residue, probably due to old dishwashers that aren’t cutting it anymore, once again, not dirty at all, it was very clean. Food…I feel like it lacked flavor, it wasn’t bad, I had the French dip sandwich but I just feel like it lacked a punch, maybe more salt or the horse radish sauce could be more potent, I don’t know, I’m not a chef, same with the pizza and the Brie and the short rib, maybe it’s just me but that same day I had a sandwich at home and it packed more of a punch so it’s not like my senses were off. Everyone’s got a different palate so I would recommend finding out on your own, would I go back? Only if I had no choice, like if it’s a group dinner and everyone was like yeah let’s go there but if I had to pick and choose, nah. The prices were decent, for 6 of us 2 entres, 2 kids meals and 1 pizza, one pasta dish, one short rib and a sandwich came out to like $200, not bad considering how prices are now a days. It’s a decent place and I’m sure it’s really good for people that have a softer palate but just not for me, still give it 4 stars, I really think it’s a go and find out...
