This used to be a wonderful hotel when first built. With different management; Rachel Wright and Maria it no longer is. I have stayed here the last three months as a Hilton Honors for business and pleasure. When I have stayed in prior years all the staff was very welcoming and happy friendly and professional. Inga has been there since the beginning and is wonderful very pleasant always willing to help and very knowledgeable. Andasia is great as well. Tiffany at the morning breakfast is also amazing and has been there for a long time she's always happy and willing to help!!! With the new management morale seems very down in the hotel and to many problems. Rebecca at the front desk needs to learn how to respect the clientele. I can understand if she doesn't like her job but she doesn't have to show it to the public or is she just miserable all the time??? She truly needs to go to charm school!!!! And forget about Rachel Wright she is just unbelievable to deal with lazy not wanting to come out to speak to guest tells them to email her when she's right there working in the hotel. Never wants to help any one or solve any issues that are happening within the hotel why she is a manager I have no clue maybe that's why the hotel has gone downhill and then Maria same as well doesn't know how to deal with the public either or how to compensate. Are you kidding me!!!! Do you want to have repeat customers or do you want all your clientele to disappear and go to the new hotels that are gonna be built in the area and that will be much nicer I'm sure!!! The Ritz Carlton, the Raddison and one other beautiful hotel to be built in Pompano within the year. OK so here was my dilemma I won't close videos and pictures so you can see the issues. My daughter and I had an early morning flight on Sunday when I booked a reservation with Rebecca she could've told me that there was a huge party going on the rooftop that night before we did not get any sleep and it had to be up at 3:30 why should I have to pay over $300 for a room that I couldn't even sleep in due to the loud music???? Manager Maria would like to give me 10,000 points which isn't even enough to stay for a quarter of a night. Are you kidding me after I spent over $3000 in the last three months at your hotel maybe corporate should know about this!! Not to mention your dirty air conditioners so I had to take the vents out to clean myself while on vacation because the room smelled like mold and mildew for how much a night???? I guess maybe I'll get 20 points for that one. Do yourself a favor nicer hotels in the area and better management find another hotel and enjoy your vacation I like to write good reviews where it is due and like I said some of the staff is lovely there it's the management and something should be said because that's what controls the hotel employees and everything that's going on they surely need more competent people working in management and maybe the place will be...
Read moreRooms are small but efficient. No closet but several places on the wall to hang clothes and beach bag/purse. I didn’t love the community soap dispensers that you had to squeeze to use. I’d bring travel size soap my own next time .
My room over looked the pool and had a beach view which was nice but the balcony doors were very dirty which would one would think should at least be cleaned on room turnover. Made me wish I had paper towel and windex as it took away from the view enjoyment.
The location is key as it is one short walk to the beach and restaurants . You can rent beach chairs on the beach or rent one at the front desk and carry it back n forth with you.
The roof top bar is very nice and relaxing . Although being on the fourth floor the music and vibrations could be heard in my room until they closed for the night.
The pool area is nice but the noise from the construction across the street was constant and took away from it being peaceful. Nothing much can be done about that hopefully they get done soon as I saw complaints about it from Nov and I went April .
Overall I loved the hotel with the exception of the puddles of dog urine I had to step around on several different occasions. It’s a dog friendly hotel and I’m not sure what management could do better to have guests with pets be more responsible than let their dogs pee inside the lobby and than leave it . Twice I notified the front desk of puddles of urine as I was walking thru the Lobby to the elevator. Maybe shorter leash rules Instituted while they have their dogs inside the hotel as I seen many owners let their dogs have long leads/leashes over 10 feet while walking from the elevator thru the lobby .
Also I never got to use the hot tub as they said it was working but I could get it to operate and the front desk and maintenance both said they didn’t know how...
Read moreThe cleanest hotel I have stayed in years. Second floor pool side was awesome for the kids to swim while I relaxed poolside. Nice modern gym with on-side laundry was great for us as a family who travel internationally out of So FL. Pompano Pier area is really nice now with pier & lots of restaurant choices. Super friendly and helpful staff Tru. Everyone we met was fabulous. This was such a refreshing stay for us before we fly out. I am so tired of so-called 4 and 5 star hotels that are dirty, dated and in overall poor condition. The parking is next door in a parking garage. The garage is closed to the public overnight so it’s not a crowded parking garage. You use your room key to enter. Our key didn’t work but the front desk just validated our ticket. The breakfast was run really well; staffed by nice helpful people. Some have commented that the (free) food selection is small but the food is so fresh and much healthier than the usual slop of breakfast bars where you have tons of picked- over greasy foods. They picked foods that stay fresh easily and I imagine that is why they can offer free food until 10 am. Nice there was an ATM in lobby. Kids enjoyed the snack store by front desk. Overall fabulous experience. The area is safe and reminds me of how Miami Beach used to feel years ago with all the retro condo buildings. I never worried for a minute like I do on Miami Beach. I am so happy with our stay. The Tru is Dania Beach is great for early Ft. Lauderdale flights but Tru Pompano is FABULOUS especially for Ft. Lauderdale Executive Airport which is was only 6-7 miles away. You do not need to spend $500-700 night to get a great...
