As a tourist it’s a let down. The beach is okay. Life guards will tell you off for swimming out too far. There are a couple of buoys in the water which seem to be a swimmers only zone, but no signage anywhere. The website details nothing about a swimmers only area. It’s clear lifeguards only want people on the shallows - easier for them. They don’t venture out of the towers unless riding at high speed on quad bikes. Beach is groomed daily. There are toilets and showers. Quite a few homeless around during the morning and evenings. Parking is okay - use the app ~$5/hr which allows remote tops ups form the beach. Can’t walk your dog on the pavement beside the beach. No bikes. Sheriffs constantly patrolling. None of this nonsense in Europe or elsewhere. It’s why tourist numbers are down in the US. Consider other options.

Whoever designed the new Pompano Beach Fishing Village should be praised for its winning aesthetic. I visited for the first time today and totally believe I have a new favorite beach. The color scheme gives it a tropical, Hawaii-like feel - it is so clean and vibes almost like a mini theme park. Clean, green areas with pavilions for picnics, an amazing wide and newly designed pier, great restaurants, lots of parking, fun playground and workout area, deliciously blue water and fresh breezes all make for a winning combination! Glad I now live just a mile away! :)

Haven’t been to this part of pompano beach before or if I have I didn’t notice it’s like a smaller version of Fort Lauderdale Beach. Very clean parking is really close to the actual sand which is awesome. There was a food market close too! You could grab drinks water and snacks! There was a bar a few restaurants. The beach was clean water was blue and there were chairs, umbrellas, and daybeds for rent! I loved our quick visit can’t wait to go back!

I took my miniature poodle to Canine Corner in the Pompano Beach Park. They require a small yearly, 6 month, weekly or daily membership fee. Local Residents get the fees for half the cost of non-residents. You get the key card membership tag at the pool entry booth. Entry requires the membership tag. All the dogs were very well behaved and owners were very helpful and friendly. The small dog park side has a weight limit of 25 lbs. which is great for us small dog owners. I have been to other dog parks that had no membership fee required, but there were issues there with large dogs mixing into the small dog area which can be intimidating to small dogs. My dog had a blast running and playing with her new friends. Thanks for a great controlled dog...
