Our Boys State Championship Basketball Team had a parade hosted by the city of Pompano Beach today, to celebrate their win. After which, the team and coaching staff decided to dine at Wings n Things, as a final team celebration together. As we walked in to gather in the back room, where they generally have larger groups seated; Jamie (one of the waitresses) proceeded to tell us that we would not be able to dine with them; as we did not place a prior call to let them know that our large group would be arriving. This location does not and has never required a reservation. It has and continues to be an open seating restaurant. We proceeded to advise her that we would be okay to be seated in smaller groups, as a smaller table; if this would make it easier to accommodate. Jamie advised us at that point, that she would be calling her manager (who was not at the restaurant at that moment.) I asked Jamie what she would be calling her manager for, and she advised that she would be telling the manager that we came into the restaurant and asked for service, without having a prior reservation; to which I asked if we were violating any company policy or rules by doing so? She stated that there was not a policy for a prior reservation, but that our group would be “overwhelming” the waitstaff and kitchen.
Our team of young adults who were not aware of what was happening, proceeded to find seats at tables in the back room, while Jamie and another waitress went to the back kitchen to the kitchen staff. One of the cooks (who was very kind, professional and courteous) came out to try and see what the issues was, at which he advised my husband that we are okay to be seated and dine, and that the orders may take just a little bit of time, in order to accommodate everyone. To which we understood and agreed. HOWEVER, Jamie and another waitress, interrupted the cook by stating that they would not be able to serve us, and that the situation to serve us was “scary.” As a group of minority diners, who frequent this establishment often; it was disheartening and embarrassing to hear the words coming out of their mouth. The waitress then proceeds to ask me if I ever worked at a restaurant before? Asking a patron this question was inappropriate, but I answered by stating, yes. I worked as a waitress in college, and in this situation, based on my experience, you DO NOT refuse service to your diners/patrons, but could have simply advised that with our party size, the waitstaff will do all they can to serve us promptly, but to please be patient at the kitchen staff works on fulfilling a large amount of orders at one time. The waitress replied that she would feel too overwhelmed and that she would have to call her manager to have another waitress come in to assist. At this point, the restaurant is not busy or packed, which is evident by tables and seats being readily available for all of us to sit.
We were ultimately refused service and left the restaurant. The kitchen cook came all the way to the parking lot to offer his sincere apologies for what took place.
I would never patronize this restaurant again. It’s sad that in today’s society, people are still refusing service to those who are paying to patronize their establishments. Never again! These boys were embarrassed having to get out of their seats and walk out, in front of...

As a regular at Wings N' Things for several years, I've had my fair share of experiences at this local gem. Nestled at 150 SW 6th St in Pompano Beach, this spot has become my go-to for a wing fix. Let's dive into the meat of it, quite literally.
The Highs: The chicken wings are the stars of the show. Every bite is a testament to their mastery of wings, with an array of sauces that tantalize the taste buds. The variety and quality of the wings never fail to impress, making each visit a delightful culinary adventure.
Moreover, the service at the takeout window deserves a round of applause. Friendly, knowledgeable, and brimming with energy, the staff makes every interaction a pleasant one. They're not just serving wings; they're serving smiles and good vibes, too.
The Lows: However, not everything at Wings N' Things flies high. The homemade blue cheese and ranch dressings, unfortunately, fall into the realm of mediocrity. They lack the punch or distinctiveness that I've come to expect from their wing sauces.
A more pressing concern is the state of the premises. The carpet, a relic of a bygone era, is in dire need of replacement. A few thousand dollars invested in commercial-grade flooring would not only uplift the ambiance but also ensure cleanliness. Speaking of cleanliness, the bathrooms are a sore point. Regular, thorough cleaning and a fresh coat of paint on the doors would go a long way in enhancing the overall experience.
Final Thoughts: Despite these areas needing attention, I find myself drawn back to Wings N' Things. The excellence of their wings and the warm service overshadow the shortcomings. I haven't seen the kitchen, but if it's anything like the rest of the establishment, a major cleanup would be beneficial.
In conclusion, while there's room for improvement, Wings N' Things is still a spot worth visiting. For wing aficionados in Pompano Beach, it's a must-try. Just maybe... avoid looking down...
Read moreI’ve been coming to this place for a while. After covid we slowed down when we decided to make some better eating choices. So we had a craving for wings and of course since we love this place we came by. My husband placed the order over the phone. The Food was ready by the time we got there when we Arrived home and my wings were completely messed up. They were literally white with no sauce on them. When I called I was put on hold for a while, I then called from another number, the young’s girls in the front pick up laughing meanwhile I’m still on hold on the other phone. The girl proceeds to tell me oh that my wings had sauce, when they are grilled it dries up the sauce.
I get the same order every time I come here so I know exactly what’s it’s supposed to look like. I take the 15 minute ride back and I get there and not even greeted I had to say “hello I called about my wings” “can I see the wings” is her response to me. When she opens up the bag and sees that the wings are indeed messed up she ask for them to be re-made but again gave the wrong order I had to correct her AGAIN. I asked to speak to a manager on duty (Clarke) explain to him what happened, he just had a nonchalant attitude. Waste of energy even speaking to him.
Not once was an apology given or anything, it’s like they were upset that I even said anything about my food being wrong or not even cooked properly. The wings were disgusting even after they remade them. They made them in 2 minutes which tells me they weren’t cooked properly. This would have not happened If the owner Theresa was there. We will not be visiting this place anymore. Service is terrible and food is going downhill....
