I enjoy reviewing places I can recommend highly, and I am happy to recommend this restaurant highly to all of you.
First, the food was delicious. The Cordobesa Familiar (meat platter for 4) was ample for our group - along with the sides, we were stuffed. Chicken, skirt steak, pork, and ribs, with rice and beans and plantains and grilled vegetables. We ate every bite. I could have eaten a whole dish just of the grilled cauliflower, if they would serve that - the little I had was buttery and roasted to perfection. I also thought a papaya dipping sauce was a real standout. It may have come with our appetizers (fried cheese, and beef empanadas, crunchy and not greasy) or just been provided to the table. I happily dipped empanadas and meats in it until every bit was gone.
Second, we also liked the atmosphere and the service; nice Argentinean theme and very friendly service, attentive and helpful. Maybe an unconventional Christmas Eve dinner, but we all enjoyed it.
Last, the Covid-19 safety protocols were followed carefully, which was reassuring, as we had intended to eat outside but arrived to find staff moving chairs indoors as rain began. So we ate indoors once we showed proof of vaccination, and mask wearing was excellent. The whole place was pretty, clean, upscale, and not nearly as expensive as I...
Read moreThe 'parrilla' influence was still present, as the filet mignon had a beautiful charcoal sear, imparting a smoky depth to the tender, buttery meat. It was cooked well to medium-rare, showcasing the high quality of the cut. The mofongo, a Puerto Rican staple, was a delightful counterpoint to the rich beef. It was well-prepared, with a good balance of garlicky flavor and a satisfyingly dense, slightly chewy texture. The combination of the lean, tender filet mignon with the mofongo created a surprisingly harmonious and satisfying meal. The chimichurri, served on the side, provided a bright, herbaceous counterpoint, cutting through the richness of both the meat and the plantains. The portion size was generous, reflecting the restaurant's commitment to hearty, traditional servings. The atmosphere remained lively and welcoming, and the service was attentive. It's clear this restaurant is passionate about quality ingredients and bold flavors. While the fusion of Argentinian and Puerto Rican cuisine might seem unexpected, it was executed with finesse. This dish is a testament to the chef's creativity and willingness to explore culinary boundaries, making it a memorable dining experience. If you're looking for a unique and delicious meal, I highly recommend trying the filet mignon...

I'm re-doing my review because I need it to be more accurate of my experience.
Ok, first of all, I was impressed by their large menu. They certainly have variety, and I loved how there are many options to choose from.
Most options include a wide assortment of meats and "Parrilladas" meaning that meat-lovers will find themselves in heaven.
Speaking of meat, I had the napolitana chicken breast, and as you can tell, it's hefty. I had enough to take home, as it's BIG. The mofongo was succulent. Well worth the extra charge to add it.
Edit: 2nd visit involved a mofongo with fish. It was very enjoyable.
The lemonade was lovely (a bit high on sweet, so diabetics, beware) and of course, the ice cream brownie as the crown jewel.
Delightful.
The service was lightning fast. But it may be due to the fact that it wasn't busy.
Overall, a great experience. I'd argue it's one of the most complete restaurant experiences in Ponce.
Also, the place itself is beautiful, full of Argentinian memorabilia.
A few mosquitoes here and there, being the only thing that could be annoying. But I can't say they detract from the experience. It's not a swarm or anything.
I recommend it. At least, for my experience, it was...
