the food is always good here but unfortunately had a terrible experience and will not be coming again, and suggest any other black people to stay away as well. We walked in and had a seat at a booth and waited for our server. she never came to us after 10 minutes so we decided to just walk up and place our order at the register. afterward we walked and had a seat back at our booth that was right by the register. immediately noticed that people of lighter complexions got served almost immediately after they walked in and sat down. Once our food was ready and the lady who took our order originally (which very rude) placed our food on the register after we were sitting maybe 2 feet from it. We noticed she was walking all of the other customers food out. So we ask is that our food very kindly. She said yes and rolled her eyes. We stay in our seat, because we want to eat inside the restaurant and figured that with good customer service she would just walk us our order. She then reiterated the fact that it was our order and didn’t walk it to us (again we were sitting right by the register. Very unfortunate experience, we planned to tip at the end of our service since we wanted to eat inside but after the blatant racism and rudeness, you will not get our...
Read moreI have never craved Chinese takeout, it's just never been my go to (truth be told I've always preferred Indian take out for whatever reason). I have enjoyed some that I have had, but I've never thought about it afterward, save one restaurant. North China Eatery on Buford Highway is the only place I have ever truly craved. Now I have a second. The steamed dumplings were delicious. They had soft, doughy, pliable wrappers and well seasoned, well textured fillings. The Lo Mein was the perfect mix of salty, a little bit oily, and chewy, with fresh feeling vegetables and beef that was cooked like it was more than an afterthought. The seaweed salad had just a little too much of that slimy texture for me, but the flavor was great, really well seasoned, perfect texture. Fortunately it is not far at all, I will definitely be back soon. Not for nothing, they also seem to be taking strong precautions for Covid to protect themselves and their customers, which I...
Read moreHaungs is a regular spot for me and my family! It’s always the same great quality no matter what time of day we stop in! We normally will just do take out, but they seem to be a family owned smaller business that stays busy, so you need to be patient, if you think they’re “ short” with you you need to remember they’re doing there best with what they have and considering there open everyday and again family owned they can only do so much at a time. Food is always delicious, one of the best take out Asian food & I’ve had and I’ve tried a lot of Asian food in my lifetime as it’s my fave cuisine😁. My sister in law recommended Haungs to me and my husband to begin with, so it’s loved by all of us! We usually pay around $30 for two meals and an appetizer, I find it worth it! The ONLY complaint I have is the broccoli could be steamed longer to be softer but I get the meal for the chicken not the broccoli so doesn’t really...
