My wife and I decided to get pies for the holidays here. pumpkin, apple, bread pudding, and sweet tarts. My god was this a mistake......The pumpkin pie was about 1/4th filled with what I don't think was pumpkin, there was zero taste beyond the overwhelming taste of nutmeg......everyone tried a bite and into the trash it went. Next the apple pie.....I'm assuming there were apples used somewhere but it was impossible to taste anything but bread. Again, everyone tried a bit and into the trash it went. The bread pudding was confusing, it was literally just a slice of stale bread.....into the trash it went. After the first taste disasters we collective decided to not further destroy our taste buds and the fruit tarts just went straight into the trash thus cutting out the middle man. In retrospect it would have been WAY cheaper to just get these items from Costco while getting more for your money. This place is absolutely terrible and seems to believe in charging more for the opportunity to wreck dessert for the holidays. Hard pass for all future pie endeavors.
UPDATE: So seeing a response from the management which is just basically berating me for waiting to post this review. Well, To the management: Im very sorry I work for a living and had been on business travel so just didnt have time to sit down and write this up for you. After looking at several bad reviews I can see your "annoyed" response is pretty common place. My review stands, your food was absolutely terrible and I apologize if you dont appreciate my ...
Read moreWe have bought from the Pie Society for several years and have loved the food. However, in the past year or so, we have noticed the filling is more scanty, and the upper crust (delicious though it is... and the only part of the pastry that I eat- the rest being rather soggy) seems thicker. I loved the chicken curry pie, but at $13 per regular pie, and only 4-5 pieces of chicken (tomatoes in abundance) in the entire pie- it's rather expensive. My grand- daughter used to love the sausage rolls, so I thought I would try the actual sausages. My husband picked up about two pounds, they come frozen so I separated then into individual links. As a Brit, raised on sausage, bacon and eggs almost every Saturday, I'd say the taste is good... not right, but good... the texture is, unfortunately, more like black pudding than sausage. If you love British sausage, and have the opportunity, find Big Ben's sausages. They are made in Florida, but taste much more authentic. Pie Society, I wish you well- thin out the crust, add more filling- and I will be an...

Girl behind counter quite friendly but doesn't know her wares very well and is unable to describe the fillings in any detail
The little pork pies are very delicious with ample filling, but the name is misleading; these are actually sausage pasties, not pork The sausage & apple I tried had only two or three tiny pieces of apple the size of a kernal of corn - that is a real disappointment & rather misleading
The Cornish pasty looks beautiful, a high domed hand pie, but bite into it and you'll discover the dome is nothing but air. It was described to me as beef stew with potato and pea, but in reality consisted of a 1/4" layer of a jellied beef broth with one small piece of potato and three peas This is really deceptive & discourages me from wanting to try anything else
They have a large variety of wares which I have not sampled, but I cannot recommend the Cornish pasty at all & if you like apple, don't bother getting the apple & sausage pie, just get...
