Okay, so I'm about to gush. Like, fangirl gush! The Crown and Anchor Pub just popped up on my radar about a month ago and from the moment I looked at their website, I knew I'd have to hurry up and check them out...I mean, expeditiously! The moment I walked through the doors, it was just like taking a hop across the pond. The decor is just what one would expect if they were walking along a street in a London borough and popped into their favorite pub for a quick pint. There are beautiful, slightly weathered chairs and tables that look like they might have been snatched from a 16th century Tudor dining hall. The large-screen tvs either show BritBox or whatever football (not the American kind) game happens to be playing that day. And there's an aquarium! The menu itself was delightful and full of trad English fare like Bangers and Mash, Fish and Chips, tea with scones and Meat pies. I opted for the full English breakfast with black pudding. I believe that they only offer this for brunch on Sundays but I may be wrong. For about $20, my server, Shelby (who was a breath of fresh air and an absolute delight), placed a plate in front of me that I struggled to finish. Did I say "plate"? I meant smorgasbord!! THERE WAS SO MUCH FOOD! Ham, sausages, hashbrown potato patties, grilled tomatoes, mushrooms, beans, fried eggs, toast and black pudding. And everything on my plate was flavorful and delicious. I was one happy American-wishing-I-was-in-England! This place is a gem and more than worth a visit. Honestly, a visit is pretty much near mandatory! Don't let The Crown and Anchor Pub slip by your radar unnoticed. Be sure to pop through soon for a fun dining and/or drinking experience that you'd be hard-pressed to...

I have been coming to this restaurant now for two years and come on average, once a week. It was one of my favorites and sadly will not be back. When we arrived we were seated quickly and our waitress was very nice. It quickly became obvious that the tv volume was at such an extreme high level that we would not be able to enjoy our meal. This was before we even put in our orders. We asked our waitress could they please have the volume turned down that it was unbearable and she quickly said yes, I agree and went and told the manager. She came back to take our order and I asked were they going to turn it down some because it was still blaring loud. She said she asked the manager but was pretty much ignored. I asked her to please go ask her again or we would have to leave because it was extremely loud. Once again, she agreed with us, almost suggesting that we were not the first ones to complain. She came back and said the manager stated she turned it down some but that was the lowest she was willing to turn it down. We gave her the benefit of the doubt, but quickly realized it was not reduced in volume at all. I apologized to our waitress and told her I was sorry but we could not stay due to the extreme volume. The waitress apologized again and agreed with us and said she knew we were regulars but there was nothing she could do. As we were walking out, the manager said have a nice day! In a very condescending way. We will not return if this is how they treat people,...

I was very disappointed in this place. The chairs were very old but pretty. The cushions were very worn & sunk down into the wood, uncomfortable. The service was extremely slow, because they only had 2 waitreses, which I totally understand. However, it felt we were being ignored. I ordered iced tea & asked for sweetener twice. She went to get it, never returned with it. My husband asked her a 3rd time & Took her 30 minutes to come back with the sugar & take our order. Then, 30 minutes later after we ordered, she comes back to our table & says they ran out of black & blue steak dish. She was kind of rude, asking my husband to pick something else. He felt rushed as she was standing over him hastily suggesting dishes in a rude manner. So when the dinner came out (we were a party of 4) only 2 dishes came out, about 6-7 minutes later, the other 2 dishes came out. I had the beef lasagna & it was SO over seasoned & burnt i couldn't eat it. She never came over asking how everything was. I took one bite of my dish & couldn't eat it, it was so awful. Never asked if we needed to go boxes or dessert. Just came over with the check. No, I did not ask for a new dish, it was so late & I knew I'd never get it in time & our waitress never came back to the table except to give us the check. Then she stood over me so I felt like I had to give her a 20% tip even though the service was absolutely horrible. I very rarely give a bad review, but this was a very...

To be honest, the one-star rating isn’t because of the food or the atmosphere, but because I was denied entry to the establishment since I had my cat with me. I was really surprised by this, because, first of all, I have a medical card stating that my cat is my Emotional Support Animal, and according to U.S. law, I should be allowed to bring my animal into any public space. They could have seated me in a far corner, and I wasn’t insisting on sitting in the center of the room. Secondly, I checked the website beforehand and didn’t see any information stating that the place had a ‘no pets’ policy or wasn’t pet-friendly. It was quite upsetting since I took a fairly long taxi ride to get there and ended up with nothing. I can’t speak to the quality of the food or ambiance, but I can give a recommendation to pet owners who love to travel with their animals: avoid this place if you are bringing your pet. Even if you have medical documentation stating that you need your animal for support, you won’t be allowed in.
