Brunch at Byrd’s Restaurant is a must when visiting or passing through Newport News, VA! Any of their eggs benedict offerings are delicious bit we’re quite fond of their Oscar Benedict made with lump crab meat and fresh asparagus topped with their hollandnaise. #virginia #757 #brunch #foodie #seafood #travel #traveltiktok #eat #eating #eggsbenedict #healthy #smallbusiness

This wasn't my first time visiting this restaurant. My first visit was about one week ago. The restaurant at the time was severely short staffed. I ordered a mimosa and waited what felt like forever. After a while I informed the waitress that I was in need of the check and that I needed to go. I just couldn't wait any longer I had somewhere to be. The waitress apologized for the wait and cashed me out. I left this restaurant feeling bad and hungry. I knew that I would like to come back because I believe in second chances. I knew that i would soon be giving them another try. Soooo.... of course I gave them another try. I did and let me tell ya they did not disappoint. This visit I ordered cranberry mimosa and The Merrimack omelet. This omelet was made with 3 eggs and inside was the most succulent shrimp you've ever tasted, fresh spinach, bacon and tomato. On the top was this sauce called monay sauce. It was served with your choice of toast and side. I choose wheat toast and fresh fruit. My husband ordered a side of French fries and and chicken and bacon breakfast omelet. He said his was delicious. The food was soo good and the customer service was even better. Heather and Tracie were great. I'm so glad I gave them another chance. I will be back soon to try The Monitor omelet that's made with lump crab meat. 😳 We always feel like were coming to visit a family member. The food is soo good. That chicken noodle soup thats made daily was fresh and delicious. If you get the soup you have to order the Glendale club on crossaint with it. Give them a try trust me you will be happy you did.

Went here on a Saturday and there was about an hour wait. That’s to be expected on a Saturday morning. The place is clean and nicely decorated, small and cozy. The staff was attentive and friendly and the food I had was good. I got the eggs benny with pimento cheese and turkey, topped with bacon. My side was home fries and I also got a side of smoked sausage which was deliciously salty and smoky. My wife got their breakfast platter with eggs, meat of your choice and French toast. She seemed to enjoy her food as well. I will say the bacon leave you wanting something else. It’s the thin typical restaurant bacon. Tasted good but I’m personally a thick bacon person. If you’re a bacon person, choose a different breakfast meat. Other than that all was good and we’ll definitely be back. Perhaps the best service we’ve had lately eating out. I also got the punch with alcohol in it and it was mixed beautifully. It wasn’t too strong nor did it lack any of the good stuff. It was a perfect blend. Did I mention the great service? It really makes a difference, for me at least it does.

Byrds never misses the chance to exceed expectations. Late morning on Thursday of last week. I arrived seeking a table for two. Was greeted very nicely and very politely explained that there would be a wait. No surprise, there normally is but it's always worth it. So the rest of my party shorty arrived we waited and caught up with each other's recent events. And the 40 minute wait passed quickly. Please don't be put off by the long wait time. The food and service are worth the wait. Byrd's is very pleasant clean and airy space, family friendly and handicapped accessible so everyone will feel welcome. And the menu has something for everyone as well traditional breakfast favorites like eggs, pancakes, omelets. Lunch items of sandwiches soups. Well I have been hearing from many sources of the Rueben at Byrds. And that it was necessary to experience. So that was my order it arrived corned beef piled high topped with sauerkraut ,melted swiss cheese, russian dressing on toasted rye. Difficulty to open up wide enough for a bite! But I managed Mmm! Perfect balance of ingredients for the right flavor. A special thing about Byrd's is their approach towards table service you don't just get one server you get the whole team. One server may expertly assist you in your menu choices and take your order while another delivers your beverage and maybe a third delivers the meal while you're checked on by your original server and others throughout your meal for beverage refills or anything else you need. And the original server then brings you your check. Such a well oiled machine. And just a mention to parking there's plenty Byrd's is located in a shopping center so a large parking lot with many handicapped parking spaces. Go ahead, try Byrd's you might wait a lil bit but you...

Waited for 2 whole hours to be seated. The servers were very sweet and helpful. The food came out at a decent time but the food was definitely not what I expected. Not seasoned well at all, I sent my food back after taking ONE bite of food and the lady came over to help us and kindly removed it from the table. Another lady brought us the check and it still had the disgusting food that I sent back on the tab, I asked nicely if it could be removed seeing as I only took one bite and was not satisfied with the “corn beef bites” they had. The owner came out and had a NASTY attitude about it. She spoke to me as if I was beneath her, I did not appreciate her tone. I specifically remember her saying “I haven’t been out to any restaurants in a while do other restaurants take off food if it doesn’t satisfy you? We didn’t lie on the menu or anything right? You just didn’t like the food?” and proceeded to storm off from the table. Ma’am you need a different job if you can’t handle a complaint. We finished the rest of our food and tipped our server the amount of the bill for being patient. Overall do not go here unless you 100% like their food because you will be treated horribly by the lady who...
