Read moreI grew up in this town. Gordy's was an institution and the place I have most of my out to dinner memories as a child. I lost my first front tooth while eating salad here. Unfortunately those days are gone. I have had nothing but disappointing service and terrible food the last several attempts....the worst was 2 hours to get a delivery that had cold congealed food and a ranch cup that had been under a heat lamp so long the plastic had melted. Day before yesterday we ordered one pizza. A 15inch taco border. Specifically told the woman on the phone "no bell peppers"...to which she replied "we don't put bell peppers on the taco border". We opted for pickup since delivery obviously wasn't a good choice. At the 30 minute check in they said it would be a few more minutes...at 45 minutes they brought out the pizza and told us "oh...oops....we put bell peppers on it. We will just remake it." We had NO desire to wait another 45 minutes so we told them we would just pick them off, to which they replied "that will be 27.00 dollars." 27.00 DOLLARS FOR A 15 INCH IMPROPERLY DONE PIZZA??? That's ludacris for a well made pizza....let alone one that's incorrect. We are done with your corner cutting, cheap ingredients and sub-par service. Domino's serves better quality than you and their crappy pizza costs 5.99. You've lost our business. Our 35 YEARS of business. When you have to close your doors and the Gordy's legacy is lost...don't you dare blame it on other stores under cutting you being a chain or on the community not supporting you. YOU stopped supporting and respecting US and our hard earned money. Your business failing is...
Read moreThis is a place where you order at the cashier and pay. They give you a number and bring your food to your table. You get your own plates, napkins etc. No table service. That's all fine but don't expect gratuity. This is like going to McDonalds, self serve. So let's get down to the food. I ordered a cheese pizza with basil topping. It came out fairly quick. Less than 10 minutes. The pizza crust and dough was good. No complaints. There was hardly any sauce or cheese on the pizza. Pizza was bland. They would have had to slightly more than doubled both to equal a real pizza and add some herbs. Basil topping was good. If you want parm cheese, there are low quality self serve packets for you made by Sysco foods of course with crappy ingredients.
The pizza was one step up from crappy frozen pizza from your local supermarket. Again, it wasn't bad, but for $20 for a 12" pizza with basil topping, I expect at the least, cheese and sauce that is a normal amount. Would I go back? No. If you're ok with spending good money on just OK food and doing the self serve option, then by all means go and eat here.
Parking is tight, but doable. If they were busy, you would have a hard time finding parking. On a Friday early evening, there were 3 other customers dining in there and 2 takouts.
Customer service at the counter was friendly. No complaints. Bathrooms were ok. ...
