On 10/19/24 I downloaded the Del Taco app and placed my order. When I went through the drive through the worker asked for my information stepped away and when she returned, she asked for my last name then repeated it to someone behind her. The worker then asked for my last name and stated that they were unable to find my order. I showed the worker my order number on my phone and the worker asked if she could look at my phone and I handed it to her, and the window closed, and she walked away. She was gone with my phone for 2-3 minutes, which gave me a very uncomfortable feeling. When the worker returned with my phone, she stated that she needed me to pull ahead and come back through the drive thru in 10-15 minutes because my order hadn’t processed through their system yet. I pulled into a parking spot and went inside. Another worker asked if she could take my order, and I explained that I was just in the drive thru and they were having issues with finding my order. A female worker walked around the counter and asked me if I had placed the order on the app and requested for me to show her which I did and she stated that my order is not showing up on their end. The female worker went over to another female worker behind the counter and the other worker stated that she had my food ready to go in the bag she was just waiting for my order to process through their system. The worker returned to the lobby and asked if the money from my order had been taken out of my checking account…I logged into my account and showed the worker the transaction. The worker said it shows pending, though, and we have nothing on our end. I showed the worker that all my transactions for earlier in the day also showed pending, and I explained that this is how credit cards work and it will post the following day. The worker stated that well it’s still not showing on our end. I was truly taken back by the entire situation. I said, "Do you want me to cancel the order and then I’ll just order inside, and the worker said yes. I attempted to cancel the order, but it remained pending. The worker asked me 2 additional times to cancel the order, and it still remained as pending. The 2 female workers eventually said just give her the food. I’m still complexed by the situation. I ordered the food in advance so it would be ready when I arrived, but instead I waited in the drive thru for 5-7 minutes and inside 20+ minutes and to be treated like I was trying to get something over on them when the app clearly showed my order and my account showed the transaction. Also, for the worker to have taken my phone where I was unable to see the worker or my phone for an extended amount of time and then to be given my food after it had been sitting for 20+ minutes. Clearly, the staff needs additional training on customer service. The food was cold, the tacos were small, the beef was unlike any that we’ve had before, but the fries would probably be good if they were hot. The meal prices are high for the portion size. Read moreI recently visited the new Del Taco in Port Charlotte and was thoroughly impressed with the quality of food and service. I ordered the Epic Chicken and Guac Burrito with grilled chicken, along with three Beef Del Tacos with crunchy shells, while my wife opted for three Chicken Tacos. We were both incredibly pleased with how fresh everything tasted. The freshly grated cheese stood out, and the portions were more generous than we expected, especially compared to Taco Bell.
As a frequent visitor to Taco Bell, I can confidently say that Del Taco’s tacos are superior in terms of flavor and quality. The cheese, in particular, is of noticeably higher quality, and the freshly grated cheese makes a big difference in the overall taste. The burrito was packed with flavor, though I’d still give Chipotle the edge when it comes to burritos—but Del Taco definitely holds its own at a fantastic value.
It was extremely busy when we visited, likely because it had just opened. The drive-through line was very long so we opted to order inside. The staff handled the crowd like pros they were amazing, especially considering how extremely busy it was. Overall, we had a great experience and are excited to have Del Taco here in Port Charlotte. Read moreIt’s been 2 weeks since submitting my complaint to corporate to be given to management to respond with no calls or emails from management. This place is very disappointing. I had to wait 15 minutes even though my order was supposed to be ready. When my name was called, someone else responded, and only my order was ready. The staff set it down and started doing other things. I had to repeatedly call out that my order was right there before they finally handed it to me. Very frustrating and unprofessional. On top of all this I received texts from their automated number for online pickups stating my order was ready in a locker (no lockers here) at a location in Illinois about 10 minute later after I finally had my order in hand. This is my second try with this store and I have given up any hope of liking them. Editing to add that I also asked for no sour cream both times I went and they killed my burrito with sour cream so it was inedible. Now you have responded asking me to submit my complaint but my review clearly states I have already done that with no response? Great...
