Went out for the first time in a while with my fiancé for his birthday this past weekend on Saturday the 10th of June, 2023. Went into the Brick house for a drink and approached the bar. There was about 3 groups of 2-3 people sitting around the bar and about 6 or so open seats. We stood in one area while one bartender helped a customer and the other was washing cups. We tried to move to a more open area to be served and they still kept walking by as if we didn't exist. This was all while the one bartender was giving a huge attitude to a customer about a MORA cup. The customer didn't even know what MORA ment and the bartender couldn't take 2 mins to explain. We left and will never be back. Horrible, rude bartenders!! That's alot of Bars problems these days, the bartenders are on a high horse that they don't need to be on! When I was a bartender in Norwalk I had alot of regulars that kept coming back because I was friendly and approachable! No one wants to go to a bar where you feel like you gotta be "in the in crowd" in order to get served and not feeling like your bugging someone to do...
Read moreI’m glad that I read a review of 3 weeks ago of a person who posted something about a similar of my situation in this place. My family and I visited that town, I found this place on Google and I thought was a cool place to go and eat (totally wrong). We entered, a lady from the bar sent us to sit where we wanted, we sit on the first floor but next to us were a couple waiting too that I didn’t know until the waitress came. The waitress came, stop to their table (white couple) and she welcomed them very nicely, talked to them, gave the menu, etc., then to our table she not even walk completely to our table, slide 2 menus from the corner of the table and just said “I”ll be right back”. I looked to my husband and I said to him: “What’s is happening here? She talked to them very nicely and slide the menu to us, What we did?”. My husband immediately said: “Let’s go”. We left. Very sad that nowadays exists people like that waitress. Very agreed with the other reviewer, Racism exists. The same way (at least my family) we respect you and others, we need a...
Read moreTook my family here for a meal, as we were visiting from out of town. This place is first come first. We went upstairs to find a table because the downstairs was full. When we got upstairs their was a family finishing up, and we informed the waitress that we wanted the table, there was no one else around, just us. The waitress allowed another person(white person) to walk up and to take our seats. We're a black family and this was done deliberately. We also informed the manager on the way out, and she said sorry but continued on with business. If you are of color I would skip visiting this spot. I have never felt so disrespected. My children were hurt because they really wanted to visit this place. It is horrible that this is still happening in the world today. We decided not to stay(for obvious reasons), if we can not be treated with respect, we definitely will not spend our money there. I explained to my children that racism is really, and we wanted to make sure they understand to respect themselves even we white people treat them...
