The worst experience in any Chuck E Cheese in my life. I brought my grandson and a few others for his birthday. I ordered, and after 53 minutes of waiting, I asked if they forgot our food, they said they would go in and check. After waiting another 10 minutes I approached 2 paople with clipboards who I imagine was the managers. So I asked, are you the manager? And they replied, kinda. What exactly is kinda a manager do? Is there some kind of Chuck E Cheese ad on Craigslist looking for Kinda a Manager. So finally after another 10 minutes, (they never would admit that they forgot our order) they certainly out with the food. The food was cold as if they lost it under the counter and just found it. So I let that slide. Then it was time for the Birthday cake! What an exciting moment fory grandsons 1st birthday, the girl said Chuck E himself was going to bring it out and sing Happy birthday to him. We gathered everyone around the table waiting for that big moment. After a couple of minutes a girl comes out with the cake and we asked, where's Chuck E? She said, Chuck E is taking a nap. I said to her you just told us he was going to sing Happy birthday and bring out the cake. Her reply was,.... That's only for real birthdays. All I could say is WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is she telling me that my grandson was really born on this day? Was I supposed to bring his birth certificate? Bad Bad Bad Chuck E. You managed to take a day that was supposed to be the most special of all special birthdays and suck the happiness right out of it. Later that day and called the Chuck E Cheese corporate office and explained all of this on a voicemail, asking them to call me back asap. Needless to say, If you have a special birthday, and want to delete the special part out, here's the place to go. You would think with so many other options out there they would appreciate the business. Not that he will ever be 1 again, but his 2 nd birthday will not be at Chuck E Cheese. Not Ever! Below photo is the empty scene of...
Read moreTimes have changed and kids are focused on different things since I was a child... i get it however, Chuck E. Cheese has lost the spark that used to make it so bright. This location in particular was no exception. On the contrary this location made it clear to me that the corporate men and women at Chuck E. Cheese realized that, you can pull out certain facilities, and the kids will still enjoy themselves. What I disagree with is that the level of enjoyment that we as children used to experience was far more profound than what these children are experiencing today at this once great American pastime. The Pizza is still great, the tickets are more than obtainable, and the arcade games are pretty up to date however, Chuck E. him/herself was pretty much a Zombie. As my son jumped up and down watching Chuck E. finally walk toward us he ran toward him/her and Chuck E. simply bent his/her elbow and flicked his/her wrist in a sorry display of a wave to my child. I was heartbroken as I experienced my son be dismissed by the one character he anticipated seeing from the moment we left the house. When it came time to dance it got worse. I watched Chuck E. reluctantly do dance moves they clearly did not want to do and making the children happy was the last thing on the mascot's agenda, body language says a lot and nothing including the permanent smile on Chuck E.'s face could not hide the boredom or impatience of the person behind the mask. I'm from Daytona Beach and we drove to Port Orange for our son to have a great experience, he did enjoy himself, however, of course he did, he's 2; however not without being half...
Read moreWe love this Chuck E. Cheese! Never a problem, great staff, great food! We went last night for my son's birthday, which also happened to be Veteran's day. It was clearly busy for being a Sunday evening. I figured it would be though, since most kids wouldn't have school on Monday. Anyway, there was a woman there complaining about her families food that was "brought out cold" but yet they managed to eat it all before making the complaint to staff. I guess it wasn't too bad....Ha! She was demanding a refund and made a big deal out of it, saying she could go somewhere else for dinner but yet shut the place down with her very disrespectful children. I say disrespectful for many observed reasons, including a few personal encounters. I can't blame the kids after seeing who their entitled mother was. My point being... Even though this woman was a nightmare for everyone working at and managing ChuckECheese last night, the whole staff kept smiles on their faces and grit their teeth through her ridiculousness. I witnessed management attempt to solve all of her issues, multiple times. I really feel like she was just looking for a hand out.... As much as I wanted to go over and give her a piece of my mind, I didn't because the staff had all dealt with enough fights and chaos for the day. I hope she, at the very least, remembered why we even have the opportunity to enjoy places like ChuckEcheese..... Thank a Veteran, lady!! Bravo, Chuck E Cheese, Port Orange! Your humbleness, effort and integrity show through the darkness that some people try to create now a days. Good...
