After a full day of experiences, we chose to end our night at Takara. We originally planned to show up around 8 pm, though we ended up passing out from a full day of activities and didn't show up until 9 pm. We weren't doing a reservation, though we were one of the last few guests arriving for the night. I will say the service was great! Even though we were sitting alone at our hibachi table, they never seemed upset or bothered by our presence and made every effort to ensure that we had a great time. I actually prefer that to a packed area anyways, as I'm not always very outgoing unless I already know you pretty well. Our wait staff was also on point from ordering our food to keeping our drinks full, and clearing the table when we needed. Our chef was talented and cooked our food well. I will say, however, it's not the best hibachi I've had. We love hibachi, though, and this is not a negative in the slightest. The food was great! It wasn't exceptional, but it was great, and for the price and amount that you get, it was well worth it. They also have a great location, I will say. For us, it was within walking distance of our hotel (less than half a mile) though we drove over because of how late we arrived. It's also right beside a theater, which is a great way to get people going in or coming out of the theater after seeing their movie. Inside was gorgeous, though. I really loved the decor and theme they had throughout the establishment. It's well worth the visit for an experience. And even if it wasn't the best hibachi we've ever had, I'd revisit in a heartbeat because it was still really good nonetheless.

For a night of entertainment and decent food, I'd say Takara's is an ok deal. For coining themselves as a "steakhouse", the ambience is more casual and tight than upscale, aside from the prices. The bathrooms leave much to be desired in terms of design, smell and upkeep, not to mention the grammatically incorrect restroom door signs ("woman"/"men"). Even the sign displayed outside of the building above the entrance needs upkeep, making the place hard to identify at night if you're already unfamiliar with the area and/or the Pavilion. I know I'm probably being nitpicky, but for $30 a plate for hibachi on an average weekday night, with drink specials at $10 a glass, I think everything should be top notch. When compared to Kobe or other similar caliber and priced restaurants, the portions are smaller (really skimp on the veggies if you don't order the veggie hibachi plate), devoid of seasonings and masked by white/ginger sauce and the facility as a whole leaves something to be desired. I do have to say our group as a whole had a wonderful time. And although our chef had a couple of great moments, with brilliant aim for a squeeze bottle filled with "sake" (cooking grade rice wine vinegar), we were more entertained watching another chef who would be better coined as a comedian. All in all, I would return to give the sushi a try, but maybe at lunch when what looks like some decent specials are offered.

My husband and I arrived early for our dinner reservation. We were greeted by Ariel, who took our name and request for a table for 6 in about an hour. We were all set and desided to look around. We were amazed at how beautifully the renovations had gone! Beautiful cherry blossom tree and statuary graced the entry, along with comfortable seating if waiting for others in your party. Sat down at the uniquely designed bar to enjoy a wonderful cocktail made for me by Jenna. Spring Fling was its name, a combo of gin, sparkling grapefruit, lime and cranberry - perfect, light, refreshing. Hubby had Sapporo. We shared small talk about the new layout, menu favorites and some laughter with her, as well as Emily and Jose... I learned about the "last day." Finally, our party arrived and we were escorted to our table and met Shannon. She took and quickly delivered drinks and orders for appetizers. Calamari as well as octopus sushi and scallop sashimi were devoured. Dinners included salads, soups and vegetables. NY Strip Teriyaki, Shrimp Teriyaki, and 4 hibachi style meals with shrimp, chicken and filet mignon were delicious and quite filling. No room for dessert, so I guess we'll be going back again soon. Thanks to everyone on staff for making a special occasion all the more wonderful.

WOW I really want to say thank you to the wonderful team here, our awesome server Summer, and outstanding Hibachi chef Jason, all of whom made my daughter’s 7th birthday dinner a truly amazing and memorable experience!!! Our special celebration at Takara Steakhouse was a little over three weeks ago on 1/20, and it was our first time dining here. Our original reservation was for 8:00 pm that evening, although we experienced an unexpected delay in arriving and were seated sometime between 8:45 and 9:00.

The hostesses who greeted us were all very warm and welcoming! I truly appreciated their exceptional kindness and help with storing our cake until it was time to bring it out, as well as the efforts of the kitchen and our wonderful server Summer in adding the candles and getting it ready. That was so thoughtful and kind, and we really appreciated everyone’s efforts with that!

I also would like to give a shout-out to Summer and Jason, both of whom were amazing!!!! Summer was so personable and friendly, and we really appreciated how attentive she was regarding all of our requests. She really went above and beyond in her exceptional service from start to finish! Jason was so engaging and skilled. He really made our dinner such a fun and interactive experience! The fire tricks he performed were so cool (we especially loved the volcano and fire bowl hat ones!), and my daughter really loved the special birthday balloons and Happy Birthday song he sang for her as well!!!

On a final note, I would like to say that we truly enjoyed Takara’s elegant ambiance and stunning decor (The cherry blossom tree inside the lobby is so beautiful!), and our food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the Hibachi center cut filet mignon, which was so tender and very well seasoned, and the cilantro garlic butter had excellent flavor and complimented it so well! My daughter also ordered the Hibachi chicken, which was also very tender and had amazing flavor. She really enjoyed it!! All of the sides and soups / salads were excellent as well, prepared with high quality and fresh ingredients, and tasted delicious!

Thank you again for this exceptional experience and for making my daughter’s birthday so special! Dining at Takara was truly the perfect way to celebrate, and we really look forward to coming...

Let me first start off with that the server and cook that took care of us were absolutely great! My issue is with how we were treated before hand while we waited to be sat. On Monday I had a party of 7 people that got together for a family dinner to celebrate my birthday. Half of us showed up at 6:15pm. The hostesses gave us a pager and told us to let them know when the rest of our party had arrived. At 6:30pm everyone in the party showed up and the hostess quoted us about 15/20 minutes till we were sat. While we waited, multiple parties large and small continued to be taken back to their table before us. At 7:20pm, (45 minutes after we were quoted at 20 minutes) I took it upon myself to go back up to the hostess stand and ask why we hadn’t been taken back yet. That was when the hostesses realized that someone had screwed up and taken other parties back before us. The hostess who had grabbed the wrong party was very apologetic and I assured her that all was good. While I have worked in the hospitality business for 15+ years of my working career, I completely understand that things can get mixed up. But it wasn’t until the manager came up to help resolve the issue that I became very disappointed.. While I was waiting for them to figure out where they were going to seat us, my mother-in-law came up and said in a joking manner “is she going to get a free meal?”… The response from the manager is what really turned me off, she said “this isn’t _ _ _ _ _ _”… Referring to another restaurant, possibly a cheaper one? Again, I completely understand that things can easily get mixed up in the restaurant business but my family took that as we were being “cheap”.. I can assure you that we ordered appetizers, alcoholic beverages and your top premium dinners and also tipped on top of the gratuity that was included in our purchase. I think that it is important to realize that it is not always manageable and even affordable for families to get together and have a nice dinner out in this day and age. Sometimes that is the only time that they can get together and see each other. We chose your restaurant to spend that special time. With that said, maybe next time when that manager finds herself in that situation, she can have a little bit more class and hospitality when handling an...
