Impossible getting customer service. I was enticed into getting the Belk credit card by an associate when I originally was paying in cash. He said, "just buy it and get 20% off with the Belk credit card" and " you can pay it off in cash right now." SO, based on that enticement, I got the card and paid cash on the spot. I was feeling good about it, until I got the Belk bill. The cashier stole my cash and I received a bill. I thought, No Problem, I have my receipt. All receipts were in my little credit pamphlet except for the cash receipt. So, now I am hoping that the store has some method of seeing me paying cash on their security cameras... The automated phone system is very difficult and doesn't allow me to actually speak with a representative. Also, when calling the store phone number that is on my receipt, the line goes dead immediately. Really Really poor. However, it is a beautiful store with beautiful merchandise.
Update! I went down to the store and spoke with a manager, who found my cash receipt and passed the buck immediately to the credit company called Synchrony. She said that there was nothing that she could do about it but give me a coupon (that can only be used with the Belk Card--HA!) However, she offered to call Synchrony for me and explain that she had my cash receipt. The rep at Synchrony was unable to help--at all! She said "mail that receipt in to us because that is the only way we can credit your account."
Moral of the story: Belk can't credit your account if you pay them in cash....
Read moreFirst off I enjoy Belk stores. I have found some amazing deals on dresses, traveling outfits and Effe jewelry. The shoe department is always a great place to find a deal.
Now with that said I went online and purchased three bathing suits. One had to be returned I didn't even try it on, it was missing the removable strap. So I went into the store in Port Orange found a sales associate at cosmetics where she happily did the return. Now I explained why I was returning it...no strap .......her response was well that doesn't work. I figured she would put the suit aside and damage it out .....NOPE she found a hanger and placed it on the sales floor. Please tell me that it isn't the policy to put damaged items back on the sales ...Belk. must have a policy to damage items out to either to return to vendor or to donate to a charity? Now let's just think of the next customer who picks up the suit and either tries it on in store or at home then realizes the removable strap is missing. Unnecessary reason to frustrate a customer. Now will this stop me from shopping at Belk probably not, but it will make me more cautious and check everything...
Read moreI can see why this store is empty. Went there today for a pair of shoes for an interview. The front door is broken. The entrance smells overwhelmingly like mold. It was so hot in there, as if they didn't have AC. No cashier in shoes. No cashier in clothing. Only 3 middle age hens cackling it up at the Estee Lauder counter. 2 of them together couldn't figure out how to complete a customers return and they would not even acknowledge me or apologize for my very long wait. Horrible customer service! Kept telling the girl that "the system" can't verify her purchase. How demeaning. The girl had a receipt. Eventually some guy showed up in shoes and I booked it over to his counter. He knew I was angry when I asked him to check me out. He was very apologetic, but let me tell ya.... NEVER AGAIN! This place...
