I usually don’t write reviews, but my experience at Cancun Beach Bar & Grill was so awful that I feel compelled to share I came in on Valentines day the 14th to celebrate with my husband and this place is a complete mess, and management clearly doesn’t care. The dining room itself looked like it hadn’t been properly cleaned in weeks. There was food debris everywhere, dirty surfaces, and an overall feeling of neglect. If the front of the restaurant is this bad, I can’t even imagine what’s happening behind the scenes. One of the worst parts of my visit was witnessing Manny, a staff member to my knowledge, drinking on duty and speaking to people in such a disgusting and disrespectful manner. It’s one thing for employees to have fun, but watching a staff member openly drink and then turn around and talk down to people—including customers and coworkers—was beyond unprofessional. Instead of ensuring customers had a good experience, Manny seemed more interested in running his mouth and acting like he owned the place. If this is the kind of behavior that management allows, it says a lot about the culture of this establishment Final Thoughts: Avoid at All Costs Between the unprofessional staff, the reckless drinking on duty, and the filthy kitchen, Cancun Beach Bar & Grill is easily one of the worst establishments I’ve ever visited. Management is either completely checked out or just doesn’t care. The food here is beyond disappointing. Everything is completely bland, as if they don’t even try to season it. Even basic things like the chicken tacos i orderded were dry, and lacking any real flavor. You’d think a place with “Cancun” in the name would have some authentic or at least well-seasoned food, but nope—it’s as if they just slap ingredients together with no effort. The chicken. It was rubbery, dry, and had that weird aftertaste that screams old food. After a few bites, I realized it wasn’t even fresh—it was quite literally old rotisserie chicken from a supermarket! You can tell by the texture and taste that they’re just shredding up leftover grocery store rotisserie chickens and passing it off as freshly cooked. That is completely unacceptable for a restaurant. Between the flavorless food, the questionable chicken, and the complete lack of care in the kitchen, Cancun Beach Bar & Grill is a place I wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Save your money and go somewhere that
If you’re thinking about eating here—don’t. If you work here and are tired of the toxic environment—I hope you find a better place. This place is a disaster, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it gets...
Read moreWe went during early dinner hours, around 5pm or so. Hooters next door had an hour long wait, so we figured we’d give this place a try despite the not-so-great reviews.
When we walked in, there was no one at the bar and only a couple tables with people out on the deck. Hooters is slammed, but this place? Crickets. Not even one other person thinking, “Let’s skip the wait and try this spot literally right next door”? That says a lot.
We grabbed seats at the bar, and I will say—credit where it’s due—the bartender was great. Friendly, fast, and on top of it. Drinks were in front of us within minutes, and she handed us menus. That’s when things really started going downhill.
The menus were actual binders. Like, three-ring school supply-style binders. Inside were printed pages shoved into sheet protectors, clearly made on someone’s home inkjet printer. Not even printed well. They couldn’t spring for laminated menus? Or at the very least send something halfway decent to Staples to be printed? Just cheap and unprofessional.
Then we looked at the prices. Incredibly overpriced, especially for what ended up being a completely uninspired menu. Nothing exciting, creative, or remotely interesting. We ordered chips and queso to start. It wasn’t the worst thing I’ve ever eaten, but it was bland and forgettable.
I ordered a street taco. It came out fast, which was nice… until I took a bite. The meat tasted like it had been microwaved, or sitting in a warmer all day. The tortilla was store-bought—not fresh, just sad. I keep seeing people online calling this place “authentic,” but let’s be real: pre-made tortillas and microwave meat don’t qualify. Chef Mike (aka the microwave) is clearly working full-time here.
The only thing this place has going for it is the bartender. Beyond that, it’s overpriced, uninspired, and just plain disappointing. Next time, I’ll take the...
Read moreMe and my girlfriend couldn't wait to try this. Now walking in great job on making it more desirable to come. Even though it took about 5 minutes for server to come over... we had to ask for menus. We ordered our food and drinks. Ok so chimichanga was not as pictured in menu! Shows 2 you get 1 large one. Was more like burrito as no crisp to it. Ugh. Too much rice and not alot of chicken. Baria tacos soggy! OK. Not hardly and flavor to say true Mexican authentic food for sure. Very blah. On top of it no silverware when food was dropped! My margarita had numerous floating things, who knows what in it. We had a nice young server. Who once engaged in talking we really enjoyed her and expressed our concerns on food. My girlfriend ordered the Pina Colada that on the menu states $10. She asked for extra shot of rum. Waitress said its a large pina colada. When we got bill the Pina Colada was 21.99 plus 4.99 for extra shot. Your kidding me right? Especially when my friend even pointed on menu at $10 Pina Colada. Usually a floater (extra shot) is usually 3$. Our bill was $72 plus a 15$ tip. Not worth it at all. Sorry to say as beautiful as atmosphere is we won't be back. We both are in service industry for over 28 years. This could've been our new spot. Yet very...
