I recently went and tried Culver's restaurant, where I placed my order through their drive thru window. Now this was my very first time ever ordering or eating anything from Culver's. As such I had that somewhat worry regarding if their food would be good, fresh and hot while of course the most important thing..... Was my order given to me correctly!
Now allow me to provide answers to the above questions and include my review. First upon placing my order I was instructed to move my vehicle to a designated parking spot, there was a sticker placed on my outside driver's side review mirror. I waited for perhaps 5-7 minutes (please remember this time as it will be extremely important for your review information!) After which a staff member quickly brought my food to me. I noted that there was some grease in which had soaked through the bag though not anywhere that it could stain a seat. I went ahead and took a fry for the all important French fry test in which we all are experts at!! And to my surprise AND delight, not only were not only the first fry I grabbed from the fry sack was hot and fresh with the perfect amount of time being cooked to that golden brown color that any true connoisseur of French fries will tell you is the perfect color. Not only that but the fry wasn't greasy, instead had the perfect crisp to it! It was not flimsy as if the fry was undercooked or hard as if over cooked. Not only that, when I reached in and grabbed to French fry sack, the entire order of fries all felt as they had just been freshly made just for me. And I did not have to pull the old McD's trick requesting my fries to be either cooked with no salt or requesting fresh fries dropped for my order. I then proceeded home roughly a 10-15 minute drive where I took my order and sat on my lounge chair in the shade of my front porch and proceeded to grab my burger while leaving my fries in the sack laying down where I could just reach in and grab a fry easily. Now the burger, I had ordered it with lettuce, pickles, mustard and ketchup. But after placing my order, I kinda regretted adding the lettuce as most places use shredded lettuce which can cause a burger to become cold by the time you arrived home. My burger was actually as if they had heard my reserve on adding the lettuce as it was the only thing missing from my burger. When I took my first bite of a Culver's single patty hamburger, I noted that the bun on each side facing the patty had been browned (toasted on the grill perfectly) so that when I took my first bite, there was that little "crisp" crunch that one hears only from a great burger! The burger was actually still hot, not warm but HOT. The patty taste combined with the toasted bun, crisp crunch of a pickle along with the condiments all reminded me of something I have not had in such a very long time! Now I am not anywhere near a young spring chicken as that would have been my live way over 40 years ago easily! And I remember the burger joints back in the 60's, those mom and pop burger joints where all of the kids and their cars could be seen parked and the food being sent out was made with care and tasted as good as a homemade burger except that your dad would either undercook or burn the buns (😂😂) but not at the mom and pop restaurant! THIS is what first came to my mind upon tasting that burger! The taste actually took me back to that time, I could see our local burger hangout, I heard the music playing it was the California Dreaming, I saw my best gal gabbing with her friends standing around a car while I was chewing the fat with the guys. The girls all came over and joined their boyfriends as they took bites from our burgers or at least that was my Mary Beth's thing she loved to do. And for that one brief minute, I was back in time where things seemed simpler except Mary Beth was worried that I was gonna get drafted after high school. But still even with that looming over us, it was still some of the happiest memories! The burger was delicious....
Read moreWe choose Culver’s for quick meals on the go because of the gluten-free options, which are important for my family due to dietary restrictions. Unfortunately, every visit seems to come with service issues, and today’s experience was no different.
We ordered curbside pickup: 2 kids’ meals (one with a gluten-free bun) and an adult burger meal. While the food came out quickly, the order was missing essential items—no utensils, condiments, or the chocolate milk included in my child’s meal. I went inside and kindly asked for mayo, mustard, ketchup, three spoons, two straws, and the missing chocolate milk. The young man assisting me was polite and apologetic, gathering everything I requested.
However, a young lady in a black hat, who seemed to be a manager or supervisor, intervened and insisted the chocolate milk “should have been in the bag.” After I assured her it wasn’t and suggested she could check the bags, she hesitantly handed me the milk.
Back at the car, I discovered the mayo was still missing—this was now the third time I had to address the issue. To top it off, the gluten-free burger was missing its grilled onions, and the overall order required multiple corrections.
For a paying customer I expect decent service. It’s frustrating to face such inefficiencies, especially when Culver’s is one of the few fast-food chains offering gluten-free options. While the food itself is decent, the service is consistently disappointing. If there were better gluten-free alternatives, I’d likely take my business elsewhere.
I hope this feedback helps improve service, as it’s a shame to see good food overshadowed by poor execution and...
