Maynard's Ice Cream & Cafe — Restaurant in Port Royal

Let me start off by saying I have been a fan since day one of Maynard's! I understand it has switched ownership and I have stopped in a a handful of times since new ownership.....the service is terrible!The young lady at the counter acts annoyed. She doesn't address or even acknowledge customers. There's a huge lack in customer interaction!There was a lot of trays of fresh baked cookies sitting open on top of the ice cream case today were everyone's face ,hands,and hair were at level with. The straws are all sitting open on the counter next to the register.They looked gross! The floors weren't tidy.I had to ask the young lady 3 times if she rung me up for 3 shakes as she placed 2 on the counter rung me up and walked off without saying anything. There was atleast 4 families that walked in during my visit and the young lady didn't speak to greet one single person!Only time she said anything was to tell people bye. Went in here with my family after visiting another little kaboose store and meeting a member of the owning family that told us about this place. First, the owning family are the nicest people we met while in Beaufort for our vacation. I believe we met 3 of 13 sisters and each experience was super pleasant! They made an impression so we made sure to visit several of their locations to support the business. Second- the locations of the business seemed so well planned (from a business perspective) so you could tell the whole thing was very nicely organized, which I LOVE seeing. And third, we will forever incorporate visiting these places on all of our future trips. Such a cute ice cream spot. Easy to find but hard to get in. The front entry is so cramped with tables you have to shuffle around other people to get around to the counter. The ice cream we got was very good HOWEVER… they were out of more than half the flavors. Not to mention it was nearly $10 for a milkshake. We did get a souvenir cup but it was just a basic plastic cup with the shop logo. When we visited there were no less than 9 screaming kids inside. While this is not reflected in my star rating (shop cannot be held responsible for customer behavior) it is worth noting because the shop is small and it was extremely loud.
