Paul Gant's Bar B Que — Restaurant in Port Saint Joe

I am from TN so I've had my fare share of great bbq and Paul Gant's is definitely up there with the best. We always order the same thing- 1lb pulled pork, ribs, baked beans, and slaw- and it's always delicious! The ribs are so tender and the baked beans are probably the best I've ever had. But, for me, what REALLY makes great bbq is the sauce. Pretty much anyone can make a good rib but it's the sauce that really makes it or breaks it for me and Paul Gant's sauce is AMAZING!!! It's sweet and tangy and not too watery and not too thick, it's perfect for bbq. I highly recommend ordering here and giving it a try. You won't be disappointed.....unless you get there too late and they have already sold out of ribs😭 That has happened to me a couple times so I make sure and get there early now😊 My 7 yr old son gets VERY upset if he don't get his ribs!

P.s. The only bad thing abt Paul Gant's is that they're only open on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. I do wish they were open maybe a couple more days a week but I'm just being selfish. It's probably a good thing actually bc if they were open more days, I'd be looking forward to wearing a bathing...

Que — 1 star Jan 6, 2019, 2:51 PM If I could rate this business no stars, I would. typically, I would not make a post of this type, but yesterday was the straw which broke the camels back, They often run out of ribs, and other items, But, I really wanted ribs yesterday. So, when they informed me that they were out, and would have someone check (at home), I gave them my # and they agreed to call when it was ready. I never received a call, and returned an hour or so later to find a customer loading his SUV with a HUGE quantity of product. they informed me that they had no ribs, and that the reason they didn't call was that their phone was down. I asked why none was saved for me, as I had promised that I would return, and was told that they had sold out because of prepaid orders. This is no way to treat a customer, and, unfortunately, they are the only game in town. There is, however a new BBq place in East point, and I promise I will make the drive there...

Sorry I forgot to post this review more promptly! I was the last customer on Christmas Eve, 2018. There was no place else open in Port St. Joe, and I arrived at this food truck about 5 minutes after they thought they'd closed. They sold me the last half-rack of ribs they had, with a big cup of extra sauce, just what I needed for a great picnic dinner on the beach; plus they threw in (no charge) a bunch of extra ribs wrapped in aluminum foil ready to heat and eat over the next two days. The ribs and the sauce were excellent, and the service was above and beyond. Merry Christmas, y'all! ...
