The food was okay but it could be better. I got the cheese raviolis which the texture felt like they were left in the water for too long or were sweating but tasted fine. I ordered un-sweetened tea, which is uncommon in Florida but might be why it tasted like a ladybug, (don't ask me how I know). The tea was disappointing and the water tasted like tap, although a less tap taste than last time. FYI- I've only been there 2 or 3 times. I'm obsessed with the fried raviolis which are perfect and taste delightful with marinara. The meatballs were delicious this time, even if last time they were tougher than tough. The bread and oil was good, but a little more spices could be added, unless it was just by chance. The atmosphere was perfect until a kid who looked to be about 9 or 12 came in crying and screaming, which her parents did nothing about. I know that isn't the restaurant's fault but that was like nails on a chalkboard. Me and my family got assigned to the tiniest table even though we had made a reservation for six and the big table in the back was empty and spotless. Either it was just ignorance or tourist favoring, I have no clue, but I would suggest getting a order for pickup or delivery. The service was bad but I understand it because the waitress said she was new. The reason I'm saying it was bad is because we had cups and plates that were empty and ready to be taken away left on the table. The food was exceptional this time but is probably the only reason I'm giving it 3 stars. I hope it gets better as...
Read moreWe saw there was a new restaurant (for us) in PSJ. We came to the Italian Kitchen for a late lunch or early dinner as we say, "Linner". Our first realization is the restaurant is broken into two separate buildings and services. Close to US 98 is the delivery and take out side. A few feet away is "the Supper Club" for dining in. We walked in and place had a large group there which limited the inside dining so we were offered a nice spot outside. Briefly saw Chef Ann as she set up our table and provided our water (Good to see an owner involved!). My wife had the lasagna (lunch portion) and I had the gnocchi (dinner portion) along with side salads which were a nice serving as well. My wife loved her lasagna (and my wife makes a great lasagna) as she said the spices were nicely blended and she thought the sweetness she tasted may be from the sausage. I loved the gnocchi which composed of asaigo and ricotta cheese in garlic herb sauce. I added grilled shrimp. They were light and filling. Service was very good, especially knowing there was a large group being served at the same time. Pricing was fair especially as food came across to us as more upscale. Thank you Chef Ann for a delightful Linner! As we come to PSJ often, we...
Read moreWe placed an order for a family style spaghetti; the online ordering platform said it would come with the spaghetti, a salad, and garlic bread. It also said it would be ready in approx. 30 minutes from the ordering time.
We arrive probably 45 minutes after we ordered, assuming the food would be ready. The girl at the front was incredibly rude and very unhelpful. Other guests also appeared to be confused and dissatisfied.
We waited an additional hour after we had arrived for our food, only for there to be food missing from the bags.
$75 and nearly 2 hours later, we got all of the food we ordered only to get home and realize there was no dressing for the Caesar salads.
The whole debacle might not have left such a bad taste in our mouths if an owner, manager, or literally any staff person had come out and attempted to communicate with us at all. It was almost as if we were inconveniencing that girl up front just by walking in to get the food we paid for.
It’s a real shame that the service was god awful because the food is actually quite good, in spite of the dry salad. The meatballs were juicy and the sauce has a great taste! Beautifully al dente pasta, even to go. Fix that service and you have a...
