Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Port Saint Lucie

Ordered delivery for the first time yesterday and was overall very satisfied with my experience...

The woman who took my order was very nice, patient, read my order back to me, took my card info over the phone and I added a tip for the driver as well...she told me 45mins-1hour and it was delivered a few minutes before the 45min mark. The driver was really friendly and pleasant too. So with my personal encounters I had very positive experiences...

Here's my order and what I thought about each item (I really like that I can add/change the standard combination platters and opt for other sides/apps);

App: Dim Sum- I enjoyed these. 4 piece with a nice light sauce that complemented rather than overpowered...cooked nicely and were of good size...nice and meaty and tasted fresh.

Combo: Shrimp w lobster sauce, pork fried rice, egg drop soup, and fantail shrimp- this was very good. The shrimp were big and I was given 5-6. The rice was also good, but a touch salty; I like ordering lobster sauce w rice so it mixes w the rice. The egg drop soup was excellent and I enjoyed it very much; great flavor and texture...a true egg drop soup. The fantail shrimp was a big plump crispy corn style piece and it was perfectly fried and very tasty. (I dipped it in the egg drop and it was awesome)

Combo: General Tso's chicken, beef lomein, egg roll, and wonton soup-while most of this combination was good I don't think I'd order the general Tso's again as I enjoy a very spicy sauce and this was not (and I did request extra spicy when I placed the order). I like nice crispy chicken which I did receive and it was big chunks with lots of chicken, but the sauce was more sweet and reminded me of the honey sauce or rib sauce they use rather than a traditional spicy tso sauce. The beef lomein was very tasty. Again, nice big chunks of tender beef and lots of veggies...the egg roll was crispy and is standard, but doesn't seem to have much to it...the wonton soup was also very tasty; well seasoned broth and yummy wontons that were a thinner style dumpling as opposed to the thicker ones other places make.

Dessert: donuts- I would order just for these! Perfectly fried, light, airy, amazing texture, and shaken with the right amount of sugar. YUMMY!!!

Where do i start, i honestly can not say what is worse the customer service or the food. If i could give them no stars i would!when i arrived i could see my food sitting there and the guy at the register was watching a basketball game, i said excuse me in a polite manner, he ignored me, then another guy came out of the kitchen told him you have a customer, the guy kept watching the game and said she can wait, finally get our food, go home take a bite and all three chicken dinners are rotten, and raw, it was the most disgusting taste i have ever had. I called the restaurant she told me 400 orders today no complaints so what do you want me to do. I told her i will bring the food back and she could see we did not eat it, i just want a refund. She said fine and hung up. When i got there she proceeded to pull out everyone of the tickets and slam them down on the counter while saying see 400 tickets no complaints 4 drivers out right now we very busy food is good, 29 years in business not one complaint till you she carried in for several minutes, i told her i don't care about all that i tasted it the chicken was spoiled and raw i showed her the raw chicken still wanted to argue with me the food is good. She finally gave me my money back. Do yourself, your family and your digestive system a favor don't eat here. Some types of food poisoning can kill you, and if you don't die you will feel like you are knocking on...

We have been ordering from this restaurant for over 25 years and throughout those years we have had bumps in the road — but never like this. We ordered delivery, and as of the writing of this review, still have not received our order yet. It has been an hour a twenty minutes and when we called about where the order was at, we were told “it was out”. When we asked, “What time was the order sent out?” We were told, “I only work in the front, I don’t know.” — then another person got on the phone and explained, “We are backed up and we don’t know when we get rushed and can’t call everyone to let them know there’s going to be delays”.

The lack of concern or care for our order is the last straw. The refusal even compensate us for the delay or remake the food is just appalling. We’re done.

UPDATE: After the food got here, it was frozen cold. We called, and Judy stated that she;’d take $10 off. After we said we were not satisfied with that, she said she’d go half and half, taking 50% off the meal. We said we wanted our money back, in which they said they would SEND A DRIVER TO PICK UP THE FOOD AND RETURN IT TO THE RESTAURANT. So now we are sitting here with cold food waiting for a DRIVER TO RETURN IT TO THE RESTAURANT. I honestly.... am lost for words. They just lost us...
