We have been going to Rick's Diner for maybe five years. There was a change of ownership a couple of years back. Before the change it was pretty much our favorite place to go for breakfast. Immediately after the change things were a bit bumpy for us with some wait staff issues, but for well over a year those have been resolved. Of all the options we have in Port St Lucie for breakfast, and there are plenty, Rick's is our favorite, hands down. The owner Mike takes a personal interest in things and warmly interacts with the customers. It's a very homey place. Love the clean, naturally lit dining room and the personable wait staff. But really, we go there for the food. In my humble opinion, they make the best hash browns in town! Wonderfully crispy on the outside. Unlike pertty much any other place in town that we have found, if you order bacon with your eggs you get four strips, not two. That works for me! The coffee is really good and they keep your cup full. The eggs are farm fresh - you can taste it. Anything we have ordered there has been cooked to order and deserving of the Five Star rating I'm giving them today. As some have said, parking can be tight, but if you want a very good meal at a good price with good portions, good coffee and good service, you can't go wrong...
Read moreSecond review - Breakfast here is Dreamy! Every time we visit PSL we come here for breakfast! This time I had the Blueberry Dream pancakes. Blueberries IN the pancakes as well as on top and rum sauce! 💗 Uncle still had the Fireball French toast, men have one track minds! 😂 Next time we visit I'm going to see if they can put the toasted coconut on top of the blueberry pancakes with the rum sauce! That would make them Heavenly Pancakes, because I would be done dreaming and gone to heaven! 😇 The only problem I had was the newbie at the register. Upon arrival I had gone inside and asked for a server to bring a towel outside to wipe down the table, we had a pup so dining outside was the only option. When a server finally came out not only was there no towel but she was not told anyone was outside. Another couple with a pup had the same problem. They were told the cashier was new. Need to train people to talk? But I didn't let that ruin my over all experience.
First review - French toast egg-cellent! Took my Uncle for the Fireball french toast and discovered they had Toasted Coconut as well, my favorite! We both got half orders of French toast with 2eggs, bacon and coffee. Everything very satisfactory even service! Thank you Rick's Diner for a...
Read moreI drive a semi all over this beautiful country of ours, hauling food, and eating some as well. From California to Minnesota and down to my home here in P.S.L. Nothing compares to this food and atmosphere. My wife was looking for something different. Went online and chose Rick's!!!! Absolutely blown away. Food, it's cooked to order. It will be hot when it comes out. Fried green tomatoes are second to none. My wife ordered the Philly Cheese Steak. I ordered the Reuben. Our server didn't bring our plates out to us. The chef did. His name was Rick. THE OWNER!!! Introduced himself to us and so proudly, told us he cooked our food. Even sat down for a short conversation. He was busy. There's a photo of him with his back to us. He had been trying to eat a little spot of lunch, but he would see something out of the corner of his eye, and abandoned his lunch several times. Whether a surprise came up in the kitchen, to getting us condiments to seating guests that just walked in due to their greeter already seating folks. Of all the places in this country, this is now my go to!!! Would have left a ten star review, but it only goes to five. My wife, she is a picky eater, she didn't have anything to say that wasn't good. Gotta come back and have...
