First I would like to say, Bob Evans was my daughter’s favorite place for breakfast. This is no longer true. We went to the Bob Evans on Westnedge Rd, in Portage MI. This is our third time since moving here a few months ago. We always got the same waiter, same result, very slow and not attentive to us at all. Each time I came, I had to get up and go to ask for a coffee refill. This time, her service was as usual and when our food finally arrived, I told her that I did not get the cheese, which I ordered, on my eggs. She told me that she would be back, take my eggs and put some cheese on them, and that she had customers in order, which she had to attend to. I politely said don’t worry about it, because we were hungry at this point, she smartly said “OK!”. When she came back to our table, not to see if we needed anything, but to check us out, I asked her I I could ask her something and she replied “sure”. I said, May I ask why, when a customer informs you of a error in their order, why wouldn’t your first response be, Sir, I am sorry, please let me make it right? This lady told me that, “If that’s what you want me to say, I will”. I asked for the manager. When I explained everything to the manager, she told me that she was sure that the waiter didn’t mean it as I took it, and during all the time that I was speaking with the manager, my waitress had gathered a crew looking and pointing towards us. Totally unprofessional trough and trough, from the waitress to the manager, we will...
Read moreI want to say the service lags a little, on a Sunday. Not the worst not the best. But in the restaurant's defense, I will say it's probably hard to keep good help. Food is good. I had sourdough bread for toast, when the waiter set down the dish 2 pcs went flying off the plate, onto the table. I won't eat those 2 pcs, after they hit the table but he didn't replace them either. I feel bad it's going to waste. I wish service workers were paid really well. If I receive excellent service and excellent food, I have no problem tipping higher than 20%. I appreciate good service and good food, if I choose to go out to eat like many of us do. I know service isn't the easiest profession to be in. I would like to continue coming back here time to time. Bob Evans is a staple, in the community. Wish Restaurants could apply for grants, at the beginning of the year to ensure their workers are well taken care financially and also were provided with affordable, decent health insurance. Restaurant owners and their employees deserve to be treat well, in the industry. To the customers, please don't disregard your servers, if there doing a great job....
Read moreService was amazing... Thank you, Mrs. Jennifer... we appreciated your kindness but we watched a lady with a ball cap on look out at our table which had a TRUMP hat sitting next to my husband... the place was empty and it took them 30 minutes to cook 2 meals... my husband's scrambled eggs where burnt flat to the plate and my son and I shared a breakfast and our biscuits were hard as a rock... glad we had gravy to dip it in... went to the cashier... the lady with the ball cap was checking us out... I told her what she did (her eyes bugged out cause she got caught) and explained that she was wrong for it and then let them know that we came here a few weeks ago in the evening... the service was horrible cause the waiter couldn't leave his sex life or his politics at the door (husband had a TRUMP tshirt on) before he punched in... great food that day but I'm tired of y'all hiring woke folks that don't know how to act around people that don't think or act like them... all lives matter... tire of spending money at places that treat people bad... the guy cook had a beard but no...
