Ordered at the drive through as I was traveling through with a long trip ahead and was hoping to enjoy a good dinner. I ordered 2 of their $4 meals, 1 a hamburger and the other chicken strips. Every time I said something the gal at the window did not understand me and I had to continually repeat myself even though I was speaking loud and annunciating my words. After that painstaking part I ended up waiting nearly 20 min for my food. It finally came and since I really needed to get on the road I took of right away. I started eating my burger which was okay and then some fries which were cold by then. After I finished my burger I went to find the chicken strips in my bag and to my surprise, everything including the dipping sauce was there but no chicken strips! That's right, they got the sauce but not the main part of the meal 😂 By this time I was too far down the road to turn around so I decided to call their customer service number since it was printed on the receipt. I got ahold of someone finally and explained my situation and they took down my information and told me they would pass it on to the manager of that location who would follow up with me. Needless to say they never did. Now if that had been all, I might have said oh well, and just taken it as maybe somebody just missed it. But then I proceeded to open my Cole slaw. My nose was met with a foul smell and the cabbage looked as though it had been sitting out for some time. So that went in the trash! Next came the chilli. Yum right? Haha not a chance I took a couple bites and I couldn't take it anymore. The beans had a plastic texture and the meat looked like what you would expect to find in a can of dog food! 🐕 All that to say that I wasn't a very happy camper after that. I ended up with a small burger 2 cold things of fries, some dipping sauce and 2 cookies which I asked the gal at the drive through not to include. And so I continued on my journey; tired, lonely, and Hungry. True story.
So, it would be nice if someone could make this right. Needless to say, between this incident and the steak and shake in MO where I and my filipina fiance were made to feel uncomfortable by a waitress who clearly had an issue serving us, I will say I have lost faith in the Steak and Shake brand.

Read moreI don't know what has changed but the hospitality host Calvin has changed the game. I will travel the extra miles just to see his smile. We were an 10 person group. Calvin made us feel welcomed and walked us through the order process from the door to the table. I noticed he was training a young fellow named Evan, and they both showed us there is real hospitality. Calvin gave the children crayons and hats. Our food was brought to us like the old days. Cavin got our napkins, ketchup, and salt. He was so attentive and we felt bad because we could not tip him but he seemed happy to just do his job. Its almost like he has managed before and if he does then he in the right position but he is definitely a person who takes pride in his job and if he is just a host, his talent is going to waste. That young man needs a raise. We will always come back to this location. We never had to get up for anything, and he took care of our dishes and table. The lobby was clean and the tables were clean. He played with the kids and we saw him take a tip he got from a guest before us and put it in the stuffed animal machine and my son was so happy. Compassion is hard to find but for him to be rewarded with a 2 dollar tip, and for him to use it on my son was priceless. We will definitely be back. Read moreFirst, let me apologize in advance if this sounds like a pity party. Its just been a rough week... I went to the drive through today around 3:15 pm and was honestly almost sent into tears. I spent yesterday in the ER and today in Urgent Care due to severe issues with my jaw, which in turn, makes it to where I cant eat. As soon as I got out of Urgent Care, I thought I'd treat myself to a shake to get at least some form of food in my system. Unfortunately, the issues with my jaw have caused problems with my hearing and so I had to ask the lady through the speaker to repeat herself. She really didn't appreciate this and the harsh tone and agitation was clear. I got my shake from the lady at the window and asked her to apologize to the lady working the speaker for irritating her. I spent my drive home trying to think of reasons why this happened; "maybe the customer before me was really rude", "maybe shes got a lot going on at home", "maybe she doesn't feel good today"... But ultimately I came to the conclusion "I really don't want this to happen to someone else". Theres plenty of people in the world that have much worse hearing than I do now, and for some people its permanent. It broke my heart to imagine someone with a hearing disability being snapped at for asking someone to repeat what they had...
