I had to plan an emergency trip to Kalamazoo to visit my father, who was fighting for his life and living out his final days. Upon hearing the news in the middle of the day, I decided to start the 10-hour journey. However, given my current mindset and the time of day, it wasn’t safe for me to drive for 10 hours straight. My family convinced me to break up the trip, so I needed to move my hotel reservation to the next day. Thinking it would be a simple process, I called the hotel and explained the situation to the manager. However, the manager informed me that they couldn’t transfer my reservation at the same rate because they only had nine clean rooms available, and the price for my stay would nearly double. He justified the price by highlighting the hotel’s amenities and stating that it’s the best in the area. In any other circumstance, I would have found another hotel, but I focused on communicating with my family and driving to Kalamazoo to be with my father. Aside from my phone interaction with the manager, the staff at the hotel were sensational. They greeted the other guests and me with the utmost respect and engaged in meaningful conversations, which was exactly what I needed during this difficult time. Thank you, Symphony! The rooms were spotless and exactly what you would expect from a brand-new hotel!

I stayed here for a concert in the area. This suite was one of the larger business suites, and it takes the winner of the biggest hotel room I have ever stayed in. The room was huge, walk in closet, couch and 2 beds. Clean and well laid out. It even had black out curtains that really blacked out all the light. My only negative review items can be easily fixed. The room would benefit from a couple floor lamps to make getting ready at night not feel like you're doing it in darkness even with the blinds open. That is my only small issue with the room, though, and I got by. The beds are perfect, comfy, and clean. The room had a smart TV to relax to and even a couple little reading lamps. The location was also perfect with no stupid pay to park rules. I would 100% recommend this hotel and stay again.

SpringHill Suites is a solid choice if you're looking for a clean, comfortable, and well-maintained place to stay. From the moment I arrived, the staff was friendly and welcoming—great customer service all around. The cleanliness throughout the property really stood out. The gym has clean and fully functional equipment (a rare find these days), the laundry machines actually work and are well-kept, and the pool area is spotless and in great condition. Bonus points for having EV charging stations—huge convenience if you're driving electric. One tip for first-time visitors: if your GPS sends you into a nearby residential neighborhood, it’s going to take you to a dead end. Instead, look for the Steak ‘n Shake and turn onto Trade Centre Way—it’s a small street that’ll get you where you need to go.

Our family enjoyed a wonderful one-night stay at SpringHill Suites (Kalamazoo/Portage, MI) 4/18 - 4/19/2025. The location was conveniently-close to a variety of food and shopping options and yet tucked away with a woodsy backyard setting that provided for a peaceful scenic experience. To top it off, there was a large outdoor rear patio with cozy seating and gas fire pits that allowed us to visit with our family and connect with other friendly guests throughout the evening.

Inside, the style was modern and tasteful, obviously quite new, and immaculately clean. Beyond the usual amenities, we appreciated the surprisingly large closet, charging station, and microwave that accompanied the fridge. The sliding door into the big bathroom was an especially neat touch as well.

The pool/hot tub space was warm and pleasant, while the employees there could be described as such, too. The Guest Services crew, including Kevin, Marisol, and Paris, were indeed hospitable and helpful, as we received a kind welcome and assistance, when needed.

The breakfast was phenomenal with a plentiful array of hot and cold foods/drinks that could easily compete with area eateries. Many additional details such as toppings were bonuses that led to some fun combinations to satisfy us all.

We are grateful for the highly-regarded accommodations and memories made at SpringHill Suites and would...

I wanted to thank the staff with all my heart for all the kindness and genuine thoughts we have received. My sister is going through a very difficult time and needed a place to rest. Kevin took the intial phone call from my nephew for reservations. He was kind and speedy. We arrived and Sam was so kind and gentle, exactly what we needed. The room is clean and comforting to her. The breakfast provided the nourishment she needed. She is a Marriott time share holder and she has told me that this is the finest Marriott hotel she has stayed in. And will forever remember the compassion of the staff. Sam certainly is in the right place. He was so kind to all of us and speedy checked us in. And even asked to give me a hug as he knew I needed one.The compassion and all the extra thought the staff has showed us has been placed on our hearts. There are so many hotels in this area but I know with my heart the good Lord set us here for peace and the rest our family needed. I would give this hotel a 10 star if I could. You just dont find this type of care to often these days. Finding every person amazingly wonderful. Thank you just does not express...
