All bread and no meat. ( A used to be fireman's idea of getting rich ) . This place is a joke for the price . Stay clear and go to a small mom & pop to eat a real sandwich.( hell ! Portillos is better by miles ) Inconsistencies in the preperation of the sandwiches is a real problem. It's not enough to run a business on a banner of " In the publics interest " . We all know that toasting a sandwich takes it the next level. But the sandwich (Turkey Bacon Ranch) I had at the Portage Firehouse Subs was a whole new experience! Fresh ingredients, hot off the press. I'd put the quality and taste of these subs up against any sit-down restaurant out there. We have been patrons of this establishment since the day it opened as we work nearby. Not one time in the course of 4-5 years have we ever had a bad experience at this restaurant and we eat there a few times a month. The food is always hot, fresh, and plentiful. The employees are always friendly and efficient. Just had the Nashville Hot Brisket and it was awesome! I highly recommend it!!
