Tocayos Express Mexican Food — Restaurant in Portage

Do not order their food truck if your guest have diet restrictions, not very accommodating.

I guess I need to edit my review again because this owner wants to contact my mother for my own bad experience, yes I did end up getting what I asked for… AFTER BEING DISRESPECTED AND GETTING BRIDE. I was told to share 2 quesadillas with my son and I. This review is for people with diet restrictions, even when you talked to this company when you first placed the order requesting this, they still gave an issue at time of event, that’s inconvenience and flat out disrespectful. So that is what my review is about MY EXPERIENCE AS A 22 YEAR OLD WITH DIET RESTRICTIONS, NOTHING ABOUT MY MOTHER’S EXPERIENCE.

If it was so simple your cooks should of made some quesadillas, I didn’t get exactly what I wanted. I got disrespected, had to wait 30 minutes for some “tacos with no meat only cheese”. ( let’s remind ourselves bride brought this up the day she booked this place for her event, I didn’t ask special at the event this was already established) Also, you’re the owner this was a request a customer requested before she booked, you guys agreed, you as the owner should of made sure your cooks were aware of this!(: It was a burden, so I didn’t get what I wanted again, bad experience:) and you’re the owner replying saying I got what I wanted? Just tired this place out after moving close to them. I honestly had no idea there was a Mexican restaurant this close. I am so glad I decided to Google what Tocayos was. I don't even know where to begin. I'm a fat kid at heart and love to eat. Mexican has always been my favorite. I told myself to order something just to try it, before I dropped a pretty penny on unsatisfactory Mexican food. BEST DECISION EVER!!! I'm so excited right now knowing an authentic, delicious, absolutely amazing mexican restaurant is this close. I ordered the grilled chicken burrito with chips and salsa. Hands down the best burrito I've ever had. The mild salsa was slightly spicy but absolutely delicious. I didn't put the burrito down once I started. So much flavor. Both me and my tummy are 100% satisfied and 100% will definitely be ordering from them again. By far best Mexican food I've had in a long long time. I've experienced all the Mexican restaurants in Portage and much further. It got to the point where I was revisiting places for their margaritas rather than the food. This is solid express Mexican food. Honestly, it’s hands down the best shredded chicken I’ve had in a Mexican restaurant. I had the taco salad with…wait for it… shredded chicken as my meat. I did not put any dressing on it. The meat was beautifully seasoned and perfectly cooked - done but not dry with enough of the cooking liquid in it to compliment the salad. My husband had a steak burrito that was massive - yes, the burrito. He was equally pleased with his choice. The staff was friendly and patient with us first time customers and happy to answer questions. The appetizer, entree, and non-alcoholic drink options are pretty extensive for an express restaurant but not overwhelming. The order to ready time was crazy fast - there was a steady stream of people in and out ordering and/or picking up - and one other table that had two people dining in. We will 100% be back for really good express Mexican food. Glad my husband googled places to eat while we were in Portage. Glad we didn't settle for bad fast...
