I was really craving a margarita and some chips and salsa. Being that it was Sunday night, we were happy to find LA Cabana open until 9, which was perfect. They were not busy at all and were very attentive to us. I ended up getting a strawberry pina colada, and I'm so glad I did. It was super refreshing, and I love that it had chunks of coconut on top. I took a while looking at the menu because I really didn't know what I wanted. I ended up getting the Hawaiian Fajita, which was the special. It did not disappoint. It was mounds of veggies with shrimp and grilled pineapple. I can not express how good it was. It came with rice, beans, pico, sour cream, and guacamole on the side. The portions were humongous! I still had half to bring home for lunch on Monday. We had an excellent server as well. I believe his name was Alex. Very friendly from the get-go. We shared some good banter, which I enjoy. Makes you feel welcomed.

Went to the one in Portage. The atmosphere is pleasant, sat in a booth. They have tables and a bar too. Ordered the caviche for an appetizer. Give it a 2/5 because the shrimp were chopped up instead of whole. It seemed like there were more veggies than shrimp. Ordered the pineapple fajita, the Cabana fajita (shrimp, chicken and chorizo with veggies), and a chalupa ( only one I ever had was at taco Bell, so I wanted to see what it was really like). The fajita meals were in large portions, my hubby and I could not finish. I was expecting more flavor from the pineapple fajitas. Everything was still delicious. The chalupa wasn't what I expected, it seemed like just a taco, but I don't know what a real chalupa is so.... The sides were rice, beans, sour cream, guac, lettuce, onion, and tomato. Check out the pics. The service was very pleasant. Overall had a good experience.

I came to this place and order a Texas burrito and told them I only wanted cheese and sour cream inside the burrito when I came to pay for the food I check and it was cover with cheese the person that was eating this does not like it that way only inside the burrito so the waiter took my food back to fix just to bring it back and had everything I didn't want inside my burrito and place it on top of the beans and rice and it still wasn't right normally I don't have bad experiencing when I go to Mexican restaurant but the guy was very rude and did not care what happened to my food I will never return again

HAIR IN FOOD!! This place is a joke i was polite and quiet when i found hair in my salsa i asked for the manager JUAN and he tried to tell me it was onion. I never seen onion look like grey hair. I told him i understand mistakes happen but that is hair. He went to the kitchen after observing the chip with salsa that had hair on it for a minute at the table making me feel like i was lying. Then came back and told me that i was right and he is sorry bc the found more hair in it. Ok fine. Then i order my 3 tacos cheese only which came out right my girl order hers the same way but the brought it out no cheese on the tacos when mention our waiter said sorry and brought out a side of cheese. I asked the manager his name and who his boss is he told me louis and he works in valpo. I called louis whille at the pprtage restaurant and he tries to justify that it was cilantro in my salsa i told him no way it was gray hair and your manager here just told me it was. Then i told him how they brought my order out with no cheese after asking for it cheese only, he tells me that this is how they bring out orders like that and immediately i know im being lied to again, considering my 3 tacos i ordered cheese only came plain with the cheese on it. I asked if he could call and talk to the manager juan here at the portage location about the bill and issues bc im being charged full price plus an extra side of cheese. He said he would can you guess what? I sat for 15 minutes wait for the manager juan to come to the table since Louis his manager at the Valparaiso location said he would call but never did. I went to the register and juan portage manager tells me i have to pay it all bc i ate the food and he seemed suprise when i told him o talked his manager telling me louis never called the portage location. Whatever dont there. They dont care about there customers. Are waiter was nice and understanding but there manager is...

I am very disappointed with our visit today. My boyfriend and I have come here several times but this was the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. We did not get what we ordered and our waitress tried telling us that we ordered what she gave which is not correct. We order the same meal everytime so I was offended. The food was cold and it was not at all correct. I can appreciate this restaurant for its cleanliness and for previous wonderful experiences but everyone working seems to be in a bad mood. The same guy who I want to think is the general manager looks extremely angry all the time and kept glancing over at our table. It made the experience uncomfortable. Not to mention the eye rolls when our waitress took our food back after we no longer wanted it. There is a waiter who we absolutely love who is a younger man. He wasn't there today and he is the reason we come back because we are taken care of and checked up on. Our waitress didn't even check up on us once until we asked the lady...

CAUTION: AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Chipotle and Qdoba have better food than this place, and I don’t like neither of em. THIS IS A GERIATRIC CAFETERIA DISGUISED AS A MEXICAN RESTAURANT. Food was bland. The refried beans were not seasoned and straight out of a can as well as the tomato sauce they tried to pass for salsa. The lettuce I got with the tacos was more white and brown than green, and tomatoes soggy like they’d been in the refrigerator all week. THE CILANTRO HAS PARSLEY IN IT!! And the manager lied to my face and said there wasn’t after the waiter had already admitted to it. I asked for a side of CILANTRO and received PARSLEY too. When I requested just cilantro on its own they brought me FINELY CHOPPED CILANTRO WITH PARSLEY, AGAIN!
