This wonderful home welcoming place is like a 2nd home to us . We stop for a lunch or supper. Have taken friends out to celebrate their birthdays there. And yes, hang on our entire family even Great Grandsons Keegan and Ryder have reserved a room to celebrate our family Christmas there. What a wonderful place. No charge for a quiet room. Everyone went through and was cared for as a special guest as they ordered whatever they wanted off the menu drinks and all for their meals . I had no stress of cooking and being too tired to enjoy a meal , just our family back at our home . And then off to preform our Granddaughters wedding all on the same day .. Never would have made it other wise. We are there so much they know us by name when we walk in the door and greet us ... Love that they have gluten free sandwiches and small pies just our size ... Keep up the warm...

We stopped in to Grand Traverse Pie Company for a quick slice of pie, and we were very pleasantly surprised to find so much more. Everything looks delicious - from cookies to cupcakes, from soups to sandwiches, from slices of pie to slices of quiche. We tried one of the sugar cookies (covered in frosting and sprinkles and undoubtedly one of the largest cookies we've ever seen), along with a chocolate- peanut butter muffin. They. Are. Heavenly! My husband commented that the Peruvian coffee was the best cup of coffee he has ever had. The staff were very friendly, and the atmosphere was rather inviting, as well. It is styled very similar to Panera, with an ordering counter and pick-up toward the front, as well as plenty of tables and booths to accommodate a great many customers. We placed a catering order for pies for our daughter's wedding reception that was held in October. The pies were to be delivered to the venue in the mid-afternoon but due to some unforeseen issues, the pies did not arrive until just a few minutes prior to the meal. I was assured from the moment I walked in to the reception venue that it was being handled, and it was. The pies were beautiful, all of them delicious and very fresh. No issues whatsoever with the quality of the ingredients or taste, etc. We had ordered 7 different varieties and it was hard to choose a favorite! I would like to especially thank Jenn, the Portage store manager, for going above and beyond with this particular situation and our pie order. Some things happen that you just can't control; people are human beings, life happens and sometimes things don't go exactly as planned.
