We arrived at about 8:15 and received what I can only describe as horrendous and downright disrespectful service both during ordering and during our meal. Customer service during ordering was gloomy and no effort was made to clarify a somewhat confusing order system for my elderly grandparents. After receiving our food which was fine and wasn’t the issue, we sat down with this awful music based on the video game Five Nights at Freddy’s, a horror game. We asked nicely if they could change the music to something more suitable for eating or a family setting as the lyrics were gory and violent and were met with the response, “we’ll take it into consideration as we quite like this music”. Keep in mind we’re the only people in this location. Eventually the YouTube music video ended and a worker came out to cue up another video. I asked him if he could possibly put on something other than FNAF and he responded with “I think you’ll like this next one.” I did not as it was more gory and more explicit even going as far as describing oral sexual fantasies which made my little brother leave the establishment. We could hear talk about them wanting us to “see what their life was like” and other highly disrespectful comments towards me and my grandparents. Bottom line I think that all three workers in that shift should be fired and avoided like the plague by all food service as they single-handedly blemished me and my families view on Firehouse subs. We will not be going back for the foreseeable future and will suggest the same for any friends and acquaintances we come in...

Today I received an unsolicited email from Firehouse subs. All it did was annoy me and remind me how poor, I mean utterly poor the behavior was of the employee at this location on Westnedge Ave in Portage Michigan about 1 year ago today. I've since stood by my promise that I would never step foot in another Firehouse subs. I hope for this location's sake they're not employing horrible unsupervised staff that literally destroy the reputation on the Firehouse Sub franchise. Get good stuff and pay them well.
I really like Firehouse subs but the two local locations in the Kalamazoo area let me down and within one day. The other location said it would be 10 minutes before they could take my order in person I politely walked away and came to this location at ~1145am. Only to have a young adult with dark hair dangling across their eyes take my order and act inconvenienced they had to take my order in person. He/they didn't say it explicitly, but the tone in their voice and hand gestures, and overall mannerisms were a huge turnoff. Last I knew they have to take and fulfill orders for the company to make a profit and pay their salary. So I canceled the order and will never step foot in another Firehouse Sub in the Kalamazoo area again. The young individual waiting on me should either be coached on good customer service or let go for the sake of...
Read moreI generally enjoy Firehouse Subs. However, my experience today was sub par, I waited 20 minutes in the drive- thru with one car in front of me for a single small sub. I also specified that I would like no Mayo on my sub, not only did I receive no mayo, I also received no mustard... Lastly, for the price of the sub, versus the amount of actual ingredients and toppings, I consider this sub to be incredibly over priced, the pictures provided look appetizing, but what I unwrapped looked like a loaf of toasted bread with no filling. For relatively the same price, I could of purchased a foot long sandwich at Subway filled with unlimited toppings, which would have been a much better value than what I purchased from...
