Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Portage

It's been years now since delivery was invented. I ordered a smoothie and combo meal and extra smoothie. DoorDash showed up with only the smoothies and not my dinner. Michelle the driver shows me her order and it says 2 items. Yup bc one item was a full combo meal. She says she can't do anything bc the store obviously messed it up call them. I do and they say yes they have my food so sorry I have to call Michelle and rearrange for her to come get it and bring it to me...I said no I ordered thru you and you resolve it and I don't even have her number. Callie calls mgr Maddie and they finally find a way to contact driver and will call me back well now it's been 45 minutes. I have to call them. Oh yea we left 2 messages and the driver never called us back. Well then refund it as clearly not getting my meal. They tell me well I think you have to figure out a way. I said no contact your manager this is your error and your putting this on me to take more time and try to figure out how to refund my own transaction on your app??? They call back no worries the mgr figured out how to credit me back. I said great and what are y'all doing to ensure this doesn't happen to the next person? Crickets...well it does happen often bc we keep warm and cold food in seperate places. Hmmm how about not being lazy and double checking the order...not putting blame and cost and follow thru and blame on your driver and not wasting 2 hours of your customers night who is now starving and telling her thousands of facebook friends not to do business with you. Great resolution Tropical Smoothie Cafe Kudos to Callie/Maddie for terrible service and resolution. Don't do it if you can't understand it or do it right...it's not...

The food here is great, I've always enjoyed this chains food and their smoothies are decent too. The service at this location is unpredictable, I have yet to go and have great service, they repeatedly get customers orders wrong or over look an order and don't even make it. I've recently become un happy with that fact that they are putting turbinado sugar in their smoothie. I always thought that this chain was an organic healthy smoothie place, while turbinado sugar derives straight from sugar cane and is considered a much healthier alternative to straight white sugar, im disappointed in the fact that they do not list their usage of the product. They list out all the ingredients of each smoothie on their menus, but no where to be found does it say that they are using some form of actual sugar. Might not be a problem for some people who are just going to get a refreshing smoothie, but for those who are going their to get an organic smoothie and are thinking the only sugar is the natural sugar from the fruits I'd be pretty...

Edit - June 2019: The last few times I've been to this location, my smoothies haven't been blended nearly enough, and twice they've been made with turbinado instead of splenda like I ordered. Today my avocolada was so chunky it blocked the straw. I had to take it back in and have it re-blended. It was still a little chunky compared to normal TS standards, and I lost a few ounces due to the transferring from cup to blender to cup. The staff are not super nice and don't seem to care much at all about customer service or product quality. I hope to see some improvements in the product preparation here so I can continue to enjoy refreshing smoothies the way I order them.
