Hong Kong Super Buffet — Restaurant in Portales

The place is empty most of the time. The food looked decent and the staff was friendly but being charged full buffet price 13.95 adult and 11.95 child for for 2 small bowls of rice is an absolute rip off, especially when I stated before we even sat down I only wanted 2 small bowls of rice a la carte so bring charged over$25 for 2 bowls of rice is ridiculously extreme when my two kids buffets were less than that. I could have bought a 50 lb bag of rice or more for that price. First and last time I'll eat and would never recommend a place that price gouges like that. I wouldn't have minded paying maybe 3-5 for a bowl of rice but 2 bowls one with 1/8 of a cup of rice and the other about 1/4 so two bowls less than 1 cup of rice for $25 that's just pure price gouging and in a town this small with only about 4 restaurants to begin with you would think they would not price gouge especially when the place rarely has more than 1 or 2 there at any given time and more often than not the place is empty. Do not recommend eating here and the selection isn't all that great a few different types of chicken, and a few other items but very limited selection and price gouging will keep me and anyone I know away. If I wasn't really hungry I would have turned around and left. As soon as my family and I walk in is when the drama started. I have an 85 pound female Rottweiler as my Service Animal. She is one of the sweetest animals you could meet but the main waitress acted as if she was a beast. I showed her the ID for my dog and she still acted as if she didn't want us there. Then she placed in a different room away from other customers sight saying, " customers might be offended with the dog here." I looked around and I can surely say my dog is ALOT cleaner than most of the patrons. If it wasn't for another waitress being a sweetheart, there would have been no tip and possibly me getting into a verbal argument with most of the staff. First off no one answers the phone. I went anyway since reviews were good. The buffet was kinda lacking in the beef dept. The beef and broccoli was 90% broccoli. I opted to order from the menu and the cashier/ hostess seated me and gave me a menu. After 5 min of no service I called the waitress over and told her I was ready to order. She said they are only serving buffet. I was puzzled since the hostess had prepared for an order from the menu. A talk to the manager confirmed the hostess didn't know what the protocol was.
