Sip & Savor — Restaurant in Portales

Moving to a new city I told myself I’d try all the recommended coffee spots before just settling for Starbucks which I will always love. This place was the 3rd one I’ve tried & the worst. The young Caucasian female working the drive thru with blue nails (didn’t catch her name) had the worst attitude/customer service ever. She rolled her eyes each time I asked for something (something as simple as a drink carrier…even though I had 3 drinks, if they offered a military discount, & to add cold foam to my drink). She wouldn’t even respond verbally with a simple “sure.” Or a smile. Just an irritated eye roll. Then, to add to my experience my latte (which was supposed to be white chocolate) tasted like straight milk with a hint of coffee. No flavor. It’s unfortunate that I’m staying in Portales for the next few weeks bc I was looking forward to a local coffee spot, but I will NEVER return to this place. I’ll drive to Clovis or make my own coffee before I bother. Only positive is that my kids loved their shake, but that isn’t enough for me to give this place my business again. My advice is to hire some more mature staff who actually want to work & are trained on how to interact with customers. If I wasn’t already having a long day of moving & didn’t have my 2 children in the back seat I would’ve gave that little girl a piece of my mind.

I have been here a handful of times. Unfortunately, after today I don’t think I’ll be back. I ordered 2 Thai Milk teas. I’ve gotten used to the quiet girl who takes payment who just tells you what your total is. No “hello, good morning/afternoon” nothing. But I’ve gotten used to that and just ignore it. They don’t talk to you or anything, just take payment and shut the window. Then another blonde girl handed me my drinks. They were not Thai tea. I asked her if that was Thai tea. All she said was “what, I thought you said Tar” then rolled her eyes and took them back. I waited a few minutes and she gave me the correct order. Later, I’m sitting on my couch enjoying the Thai tea and I pull out what looks like a thin strip of aluminum foil (pictured) out of my mouth. TAKE BETTER CARE OF YOUR CUSTOMERS! YOUR CUSTOMERS ARE SPENDING TOO MUCH MONEY ON YOUR OVER PRICED DRINKS FOR YOU TO BE RUDE AND STILL EXPECT A TIP! My advice, GET RID OF THE YOUNG THIN BLONDE GIRLS. Went for a nice iced drink around 12:30 p.m. on 06/27/24. Arrived to see the menu was not working properly and showing a login page; good thing I knew what I was going for. Whoever took my order was very uninviting and sounded bothered that I was even there. There was only one other car in front of me so it's not like it was really busy. Pulled around towards the window to hear the girl inside having a full conversation with the person infront of me. Guessing they knew them. Waited for a good five minutes for them to finish their conversation. After they leave I pull up and it's like I'm not even there AT ALL. Window was opened, they were talking, and completely ignored me for a few minutes. I get it, you want to talk, but dang, I felt so unwelcome and slightly embarrassed that I was even there. The blonde girl with a pony tail and green ENMU sweatshirt today made me absolutely NOT want to come back even though I crave their coffee drinks. Good coffee but...
