I’ve been coming to El Nuevo Mexicali No. 2 for over 20 years, and it’s truly been a place filled with great memories. Like any restaurant, I’ve had both amazing experiences and a few not-so-great ones, but I don’t judge a place by a couple of bad moments—especially when those were tied to staff who no longer work there. Overall, the customer service has always been amazing and keeps me coming back.
Now, the real star here? The breakfast burritos. Hands down, some of the best you’ll find anywhere. Honestly, they’re so good that I’ve had them more often than I’d like to admit—definitely more than my trainer would approve of, and probably more than my doctor should know about. Let’s just say these burritos are good enough to make you break a diet and lie to your doctor.
Another great thing about this location is the large event room they have available (for a fee). It’s perfect for hosting gatherings like baby showers, birthday parties, retirement celebrations, work dinners, or any other special event. On top of that, they also have a bar with alcoholic beverages, making it easy to enjoy a full dining and celebration experience all in one place.

Read moreMy family and I have been coming here for years. The food, the service, and the atmosphere used to be great. Over the past 2 or 3 years all of these have been significantly lowered. The staff used to be polite and eager to wait on you. Now it seems as though they are being bothered or annoyed when servicing you. The food quality is inconsistent and you NEVER get an itemized bill for your meals. Needless to say, the bill never seems to add up correctly and a reasonable explanation is never given by staff on what the accurate price points are. Recently, we began ordering take out and the prices for the same item has changed everytime and they were large price differences from the menu prices. Also, there is a substantial fee to use any credit or debit card. We have remained patrons in hopes that these things would improve but it appears,...
Read moreI placed an order in person the waitress said the burrito had 3 things rice beans and meat. When I got home I cut a piece for my son. He began to eat as I opened it to add the lettuce I noticed no rice. But cheese instead. So I call back and a man answered as I explained, he asked the waitress. He repeated it comes w/o the rice. I told him I'm actually lactose so I would've said no cheese . At that point he only offered the side of rice. I told him I would like a new burrito because im lactose and she never said cheese. She said rice. He was upset at that point his tone was rude. I asked if it was okay to order in Person or when I arrived. And he hung up on me. Would anybody feel comfortable eating there after that attitude. No thank you! He may spit...
