We had an excellent meal from Amica Chef several weeks ago via Postmates and were eager to order from them again this evening when we were out of ideas of what to cook at home. I ordered the clam linguine with added scallops. My husband had the lasagna, as well as a tiramisu drizzled with white chocolate.
My clam linguine was bite after bite of sand and disintegrating shells. There were patches of sand on the clam shells themselves that i could wipe away with my finger. Why weren’t they cleaned? How long does a clam have to cook (or perhaps be frozen?) for chunks of the shell to chip off and disintegrate into more sand? There were also differently colored clam pieces throughout (that i assume were used to make the sauce) which were disconcerting green and sickly yellow colors.
My husband couldn’t even get halfway through his lasagna - the swamp of grease was too much for him, and he is a lover of things like greasy pizza - before deciding to throw it out.
Moving on instead to the tiramisu, he found the small container of white chocolate we had paid extra for and went to drizzle it over his dessert. It smelled unmistakably rancid. He threw that out too.
I am just shocked honestly. Our first experience was such a slam dunk win, but tonight’s dinner - which we intended to be a bit of a treat after a particularly hard week - was beyond disappointing and has disrupted our trust in this establishment to the point that we are concerned we might get sick. I love supporting local businesses and will happily pay more than chain prices to do so; but it has to actually be edible. I don't think that is...
Read moreHonestly, it was 12:30am, I was hungry and tired and didn’t have the energy to cook food, so I checked a few different pizza places before checking Uber eats. It was one of their “order in 5 minutes for free delivery” deals so I thought, why not? My card declined the first time (forgot it expired), and so I tried my other card, and it went through. I say this because I hit a point of exhaustion while ordering where I debated even staying up for delivery, and the declined payment felt like a sign to just go to sleep. Well, it went through finally and the wait time said 35 minutes. Not bad, but I suddenly was hit with another wave of exhaustion. Long story short, the food came in 22 minutes! First thing I noticed was huge portions, bread ;), and a dum dum lollipop in the bottom. My sleep deprived brain was a little too giddy. But the food was absolutely delicious! And I didn’t even realize it was a food cart until reading a few reviews on here after I ate it. Could...
Read moreWas looking for a good s spaghetti spot in NE Portland, I do believe that I found it. OMG it smelt so good from the start, extremely large portions I couldn't believe what I had gotten. I order the chicken alfredo spaghetti with a Caesar chicken salad and garlic bread with the Alfredo sauce, I ordered it as a pickup order by the time I got home I needed to heat it up and tried alittle of it. I CAN NOT describe to you in any other words than YUM YUM YUMMY it's absolutely out of this world I'm so glad that I tried it. This food cart is definitely a spot that I will be coming back to try even more of their menu. If you're on NE MLK it's a must try. You won't be...
