This is SUCH good food! Literally everything is delicious from the drinks to desserts. Casual service, with ordering at the counter of the bar. Large outdoor area too which I imagine is lovely in the summer. I got the pretzel knots, buffalo soy curl wrap, mac n cheese, and my partner got chili pie. We also got a vegan cheese and cheesecake for dessert and ate the leftovers for days after. The house chips are deliciously seasoned. I think about the buffalo soy curl wrap at least a few times a week that is how much I like it and compare it to other vegan buffalo options. The chili pie was a surprise favorite. Honestly you could order anything on this menu and it would be worth it. Can't wait to come back to try more and enjoy the outdoor seating. Oh and did I mention they are open until 12 or 2:30 am? finally some late night vegan food at something that is more of a restaurant than just a bar with appetizers.

When we got there, we both didn't think anything from the menu stuck out at us. But we started off by ordering the pretzel knots and wow, those pretzels were the best I've had. The sauces that it came with were phenomenal. I also made the right decision in ordering the BBQ Platter, because their bbq tofu was out of this world. I thought they'd just throw BBQ sauce on some tofu and call it good but it could've fooled me into thinking it was meat (and I don't say that very often). I love how the restaurant is low light at night and there was so much seating around that I felt like we had our privacy. They also have their own little parking lot so that already won us over. Overall, it was an amazing place! Just know that they will check your ID before entry. We got there at 8:45pm so it might be because it was evening and that's when people tend to go to the bar or something.

The food here is so good. I think it is entirely vegan, which is a huge bonus considering that we are all going to be dead in 20 years if more places don't start doing that soon. The atmosphere can be anywhere from loud and frenetic, to a nice place to read a book. They also have some of the nicer patios in the Portland bar world. My favorite sandwich is the weeping tiger, which has a delicious "nooch" crusted tofu in it, but honestly I have yet to have something off their menu that doesn't hit the spot. I would be in the wong if I didn't also mention their drinks, last time I was there I had a cucumber slushy thing that blew my mind, and was perfect for the near 80 degree weather outside. This is a place that has put a lot of work into doing things right, and it absolutely shows.

I debated leaving this review because I really only enjoy writing positive reviews, particularly in support of local establishments. This place should be amazing. We go here often because my husband is vegan and we are in love with attending Wed trivia with a group of friends. The last time we were all in together two of the group members went to order drinks and came back quite a long time later, empty handed. They told us that the bartender was quite rude during initial ordering and they finally gave up on ordering this second round after being passed over repeatedly, they were quite upset. Having been a bartender myself for many years I actually defended the bar staff, noting that it was busy and it was likely nothing personal or intentional, just an oversight. My friends kindly disagreed. Our drink-less night continued.

Fast forward to last weekend, when I am in there ordering for myself, with a different group of friends. The bartender was so unnecessarily rude to me, with zero provocation (unless saying “May I please order the…” is somehow antagonistic) - I was actually shocked enough to spend my time writing this right now. I would just like to say, it doesn’t matter how great some outdoor seating is, or how wonderful it is to have access to a vegan menu… if staff are treating you like you are nothing but an annoyance and inconvenience, it ruins the taste of everything. Portland has a million wonderful local options for places to eat, drink and socialize, I don’t consider it a competitive edge having staff that are still embracing the over-played arrogant bartender persona. Super disappointed to have to find somewhere else for the...

Did not feel the love the night I joyously frolocked in... So I was doing the best I could to stay positive after being on the road several hours & I was finally able to eat after clearing my stomach from the pain earlier in the day. Blood sugar ws very low with my hypoglycemic tendencies so I was feeling a bit overwhelmed... So with appetite coming back I was determined to find an open place that has vegan & gluten free options. Well luckily Bye & Bye was open...however the man sitting at the door was extremely rude....misery loves company I guess. It's sad when others project their fears onto you...I will make sure the manager is well aware of what happened and I felt totally disrespected for being too joyous? Karma will balance everything out...the door man will be humbled very soon. Thank you... If you are into the energetic vibration of apathy this place is for you! I haven't tried the food yet nor will I because of the densities and fear I felt emanating in there.. I stepped outside to get some fresh air and when I came back in....well I will save it but this is not over. I had difficulty driving back to the airbnb I was staying at because of the hypoglycemic feelings. First night in Portland success thanks to Bye & Bye ! All is well now alas it was not a pleasant experience and this is coming from a 'cup half full' type guy. Infinite blessings to you all i know the scales will balance...

I had a terrible experience here tonight. My friend and I, both vegetarian, were looking for a good place to eat and decided to pop in. We were browsing the menu standing near the bar and didn't know if it was vegetarian. I decided to ask the bartender by shouting "Excuse me!" so he could hear me over the very loud music. Now, my friend and I are both small women who come across as smiley and timid. From these TWO words, this bartender starts CHASTISING ME with a personalized speech about how I need to learn to wait. He could have easily said, "I'll be with you in a minute", but he decided to turn directly toward me and scold/punish me like I was a child for interrupting what he was doing. It was a completely unnecessary reaction for the situation. I can't explain how inappropriate this was not only to do to a customer, but to another human. I have never been met with such aggression and anger from a service industry worker. I am a waitress myself, and I know the difference from not being smiley all the time (being a real human), and this went way beyond that. My friend and I were so stunned and shocked someone would do that, everyone around us just awkwardly stared at us as it happened. It was incredibly rude and scary and we felt so uncomfortable we immediately left. Definitely not fun to leave with this bad taste in our mouths. This was...
